  1. Thank you. It does not encounter the problem when the Clock Mode is set to Song - SPP at Play Start only. So I assume it's something about the Song Position Pointer command being sent when the cycle repeats. I'd love to know why that is/why the SPP command is sent at the wrong time/how to make it work. Thank you for chiming in.
  2. I have my drum machine - Arturia Drumbrute Impact - accepting midi from Logic. Play/stop, works fine. i set a cycle, and after the first time through the cycle, it falls out of sync - as if logic tells it to skip to beat one too early.
  3. Ah...you give me too much credit! CPU, memory - only thing I’m really concerned about is keeping logic from stopping!
  4. Thanks! I’m ALWAYS running into resource limits. I always assumed bouncing saved more resources than freezing - I was just hoping I was wrong because I’m always scared of commitment!
  5. I've been searching high and low for an explicit answer to this, and this is as close as I have found. Am I understanding correctly - Bounce is more effective at saving CPU than Freeze? Therefore, if you're comfortable committing, you'll get better results by bouncing as opposed to freezing.
  6. My friend had a project in Ableton, but screw that noise, I'm mixing it in Logic. I exported them to .wav files and started a Logic session. Used software (Capo) to determine the tempo and key. Dropped them in to a new project. Selected Auto Tempo because I don't understand that feature so I figure Logic knows best (perhaps where my problem was.) Usually I have no problem with this method. But today, one session has gone wacky and audio clips are no longer in their proper spot and timing is all off. The only thing I can think of is that I changed the end of the Project End Marker from 85 to 89 to give myself a little more space at the end. Could that have been my mistake? As an aside, does anyone know a simple guide for the Auto Tempo feature (simpler than the manual which I clearly have not been able to wrap my brain around)
  7. THIS GUY. TRUE AMERICAN HERO. Unless you're from somewhere else in the world. I guess you could just be a general hero. Thank you!
  8. Nevermind. Selecting the individual tracks and File>Bounce>Track in Place did what I wanted.
  9. Apologies if it's better for me to start a new thread, but my question is closely related. I was attempting to Bounce > Replace all tracks and I realized it also bounces my Summing Stacks. I'm trying to find a way to bounce in place all my audio tracks, but leave all my sends, pan, volume, and Summing Stacks in place. I've figured out how to do it all except for preserving my summing stacks. Basically, I'm trying to print all my tracks after my initial round of gain-staging. it may ultimately prove not that much of a CPU save (although I am using Acustica Sand3 Pre to boost/attenutate my levels) and just end up being sisyphean. But at this point, i'm down the rabbit hole trying to learn the options available to me.
  10. Thank you for this. I'm assuming the Setting tab is the one on the channel strip above the plugins, just above the Gain Reduction in the Mixer. Even if I have multiple channels highlighted, it will only paste on the one I clicked on. However, it does work when I use the key command OPT+CMD+V, so thank you for getting me that far!
  11. I was just looking for a similar solution...a way to delete blank slots without manually moving all the plugins up. Good to know it doesn't exist yet, thank you!
  12. I am in advanced, yes. And I learned what you are suggesting, but I did so the hard way! The only roadblock i'm having now is when I want to learn a command specific to a certain plugin. I've set F1 to open the first insert slot where I put Hornet VUMeter. It has an latching button called AUTO which will detect the peak db and increase/decrease the gain to avoid clipping. So it would be incredible to hit F1 to open it, Shift-F1 to engage the AUTO function, then hit play to let it do its work. But learned commands don't show up in the dropdown window as assignable commands. So that's the current mystery I'm running down. I don't intend to come here to run down every mystery I come across, so any resources, guides, or rules of thumb (like the above) is incredibly helpful. I'm very much a person who appreciates being taught to fish.
  13. Thank you! For whatever reason, my internet searches always landed me with the logic 9 guide, and it never dawned on me to find the lpX book. And you're right about ditching the preferences on a regular basis...I've attempted that by deleting the Device under Control Surface Setup - which created duplicate Zones under Controller Assignments which I had to delete as well. And I also ran the Rebuild Defaults command under Control Surfaces menu. I'm not sure that's a good way of doing that though, but I'm also not confident in using the terminal to run that script. I've used terminal before, but I get really nervous punching in scripts when I don't understand what they do. I guess the script is just paste and go? Do i have to insert the name of my home disk instead of ~ or does Terminal understand that? I assume mv means you're moving the file...or does $THEDATE command terminal to simply rename the file so that LPX doesn't use it anymore? Wouldn't it be better to just delete the file? All questions you don't necessarily have to take the time to answer; I'll likely come across it at some point in my journey. Regardless, thank you for the time you've spent helping me.
  14. Search results returned a long list; I'm looking for good resources for how to utilize controller assignments for my Behringer X-Touch using Mackie Control. In particular - I started into it by trying to reassign F1-F8. No problems there. I had problems when I tried to do Shift-F1, or another modifier. Essentially, I tried to learn the function but it seems like it just rewrote the function of the shift button. Or something. I tried to delete what I had done but the shift button stayed illuminated even after I had exited and I couldn't turn it off. Basically, I opened up a dark box and I don't know what I'm doing. Edit: So I went into the Modifiers>shift>and selected F1 under that menu and reassigned it by selecting the function. However, I wasn't able to figure out how to learn a plugin parameter that way; so now Shift F1 is doing what I want F1 to do (open the plugin window in the insert slot 1) and F1 is doing what I wish I could have shift-F1 do (modify the plugin parameter) Edit #2: looks like the shift button is stuck again? It's illuminated and i can't turn it off. And this time I know I didn't overwrite the shift command. Like I said...I'm in over my head
