  1. i understand than you have the same behavior on your side ? I will report the bug. Thanks.
  2. HI Atlas007 and David. I won't use a movie screenshot because I'm not into learning a new software which is not as user friendly as they say. When you're stock in a software and Escape doesn't get you out, or Command-dot, or Command-Q, it is not as user friendly as the authors say... I might be getting old. Here are some simple screenshots. #1 screenshot : Content erase is activated. #2 screenshot : Replace mode is On #3 screenshot : The state before I click Record #4 screenshot : The MIDI data gets erased as soon as I click Record #5 screenshot : There's nothing to Undo. #6 Screen : there's nothing to undo dialog. Is this behavior normal ? With the option Region erase, I can undo... but not with Content erase. And I'd say that other things seem weird, but I won't go into this for now. If there's a bug, the bug might have different effects... Thanks for looking at this when you have some spare time, it's Friday night for everybody, the week-end is here, you might have other things to do and I understand ! Here are the screenshots !
  3. I use Logic 10.8.1, MacOS 14.4.1. I will look at your suggestions to capture a dynamic screenshot. Thanks.
  4. David, I have a feeling that some things still seem to have a strange behavior. For instance : is it normal that if : -I define a punch in region - I choose the option Content erase, - I enable the Replace mode. Then, the minute a click on Record (while beeing a few bars before the defined punch in bars) all the MIDI notes are erased from that track in the defined punch in area AND I CANNOT UNDO OPERATION (command Z) in order to bring back those erased notes. Strangely, when I choose Region Erase, I can undo the operation to bring back the erased notes (Other things might be weird, but let's start with this one...)
  5. David, it does work. I'm not sure what I've changed, but it does work now. I'm gonna study the differences between those options Region erase, Region punch, Content erase and Content punch. It seems to be quite similar on my side, for now, but I'll check carefully with the book, once again. Thanks for helping me. Have a great day. Here, it seems that it will never stop raining, I hope you have some sun on your side !
  6. This is not the behavior on my side... and Replace mode IS on. What do you use to capture a dynamic screenshot (movie) ?
  7. Hi David. First, thanks for taking the time to help me. I did exactly what you said. It partially solves my problem. Now, I can hear the MIDI already recorded on the track leading up to the punch in point (wow, it is so clear when YOU formulate it). BUT... the MIDI already recorded on the track continues to play when I get to the punch in point. I don't want to hear the MIDI data that I want to replace, I just want to hear it before I get to the punch in point. I keep looking but I don't see how I should adjust things up... I tried all the different combinations with Auto input monitoring and Software monitoring buttons, thinking that the problem could be there... I just don't see the problem. For fun, I'm gonna try in a new file...
  8. I still haven't found the solution... but I have a workaround ! Thanks for your generous help, Atlas007 !
  9. No. It doesn't change anything. I wonder if my question was clear. Let say that I set autopunch to start at measure 16 and end at measure 24. I record enable my piano track. I start the playing (and recording with autopunch) at measure 12. I want to hear what I've recorded on my piano track from measure 12 to 16, in order to start to play the software piano and record some new piano correctly from measure 16 to 24, when the autopunch will start the recording. I can do this with an audio track, but it does not work with a software track. The minute I start record with the autopunch activated, I do not hear anything on my piano track from measure 12 to 16. It's then impossible to start to play the correct music. I might be wrong, but I think that I could do that some time ago.... but it's not working anymore. My temporary solution is to record the piano on a new track from measure 16 to measure 24, in order to be able to listen to the piano already recorded from measures 12 to 16. I hope and wonder if this is clear...
  10. Hi ! I think I changed a preference somewhere, but I can't see what it is... When I use the autopunch button to record on an audio track, I can hear my audio track until the punch-in recording starts. When I try the same thing in order to record on a midi track (software instrument), I do not hear my MIDI track before the punch-in starts... which is really not practical. I checked the recording preferences, I don't see what's the problem. Thanks so much for helping me.
  11. Ok, I’ll read this again slowly. Thanks Atlas007 !
  12. Oops... maybe I have a clue. My tempo track seems to continue forever. I don't see how to have it to end at bar 127... maybe that causes the project to continue until bar 154 ? I purposely changed the end of the project to bar 200 to see what was happening with the tempo track and to be sure that no data was existing after the end of the project, at bar 127 (I will put it back there). See the screenshot. Can it be the tempo track the problem ? (I once tried a tempo change in that song but then changed my mind and kept it steady at 110 bpm.)
  13. Yes, David, I understand and this would give me a solution. Thanks to all of you, David, Polanoid and des99 !
  14. Thanks dess99 for answering me. Well, in Share to Music, there is no option Include audio tail. But yes, the option was checked in Bounce. I unchecked it and did a bounce, to be sure that the option would be memorized. The mp3 that I bounced ended correctly, at bar 127. Then, I did again a Share to Music (where I do not have the Include audio tail option) and the song ended once again at bar 154. *** I went back to the Logic Guide and realized that some plugins might sometimes cause a project to last too long when the Include audio tail is checked. I won't check it anymore, but it does not seem to be the problem here. What can it be ?
