  1. All, both replies helpful thanks so much. I need to ensure syncopation is set to 'default' then it displays correcty (I assume this also means 'off' (unchecked). I think I must have needed syncopation on elswhere. I note that you can force or defeat on a note by note or bar by bar basis so best settings are what works mostly, then correct individual anomomlies as you find them. This is a very important win for me so thanks very much!
  2. Thanks for replies I will check the ideas this evening much appreciated!
  3. Does anyone know how to resolve this, I find it a lot in Logic Score and would love to solve it. This bar is an example, the time signature is 4/4› the dotted quarter note (dotted crotchet in UK) should be followed by the eigth note (quaver) tied to the half note (minim). Why is it not splitting the first bar into two equal halves? The eigth note and half note should be round the other way. Of course in the piano roll this is one midi note (running into the next bar), but on the score its illogical to read. I have tried editing interpretation, syncopation etc. the quantising is 16/24 which is correct.
  4. Thanks polonoid that’s good news. Okay next step new kit then…
  5. I've just come here searching for the solution having same problem. I can't upgrade to beyond 10.7.9 as my iMAC is 7 years old and must now be chucked in a skip! Anyone know if this was fixed in 10.8? (I'd need a new laptop to prove it). Thanks to all for reporting though, useful to know it ain't just me..
  6. Hi. Yes, doesn’t appear to be a problem.
  7. Greeting all and HNY. This one has me perplexed. I'm trying to import score settings from another project. I have done this before and often but not for the last few months. So I go to File - Project Settings - Import Project Settings - and then choose the project where these error messages come up (in the sequence of the attachments). After clicking on the abort & cancel buttons a few times (they keep coming up in turn) Logic crashes. I have loads of RAM memory and I don't understand the 'regions' message (I wasn't aware I was trying to create a region).. Any ideas? I suppose I could create my staff styles and score sets again but seems a shame went you're meant to be able to share between projects.
  8. My original post has the question. That looks great, is it in the part box? And does it behave like the 2 bar repeat where you can leave the events in the region but the score just shows the instruction?
  9. Well - I have to produce integrated parts for a 20 piece orchestra so probably going off piste to another tool just for guitar doesn't work. I've seen Guitar Pro - seemed good but not worth me spending time with it. You'd think it might be worth Logic upping the game a bit on Score? I won't hold my breath 🙂
  10. Yep agreed. I’m coming to the conclusion that best thing is to put the arrangement together in Logic, then export XML to Sibelius (which I have, but never used). I think I’ll book one of my clever musicians in to show me how Sibelius works! 😝
  11. Yep thanks for the replies, I get it that it looks a bit naff, but on a chart I'm writing where there's a repeating rhytm guitar it seems appropriate. I'm aware its frowned upon by serious pagianators! Maybe I should just write the chords once I've shown the rhythm and annotate 'freely'! Thanks all!
  12. Anyone use Score out there!? In the part box there is a tool to show repeat of two previous bars (as attached). What do I do if I want to show repeat of 4 previous bars? Btw I've seen discussed elsewhere that there's not much in the way of tutorial on Logic Score - I agree that the best I've ever found is this (I subscribe to MPV): https://www.macprovideo.com/video/logic-pro-x-109-core-training-the-score-editor/1-1-introduction-welcome?afid=H9yKpLNH73
  13. Fascinating @analogika thanks although there's no agenda in my original post 😉 You might notice I said 'surprised' not 'bastards'. In fact I'm looking at the refurbished store now...
  14. Thanks Mike, yes I was surprised because basically the iMac seems fine. It’s the first Apple computer I’ve had and certainly didn’t expect this. Oh well…
  15. Hey @rAC excellent guidance there - really appreciate it.
