  1. Thanks for the reply David. I had only purchased the Web Edition on Peachpit. Yeah, something is wrong with that Skills Review section. The questions are there but no answers anywhere and when you click that page 50 index.html files download. When you click those index files they are just blank pages. Since getting your reply I went ahead and purchased the EPUB Edition and I see what your screenshot showed. I would have addressed this w/Pearson but their customer service is in my experience not even worth investing any energy whatsoever. Thanks David.
  2. Hey David, Just curious as to what is being downloaded when clicking the Appendix A - Skills Review in the new 10.7 book when the using the Web Edition as launched from my Peachpit account. Whenever I click that section 50 downloads fly into my Downloads folder all with the title 'index'. Are these supposed to be the answers or something? 50 downloads relates to the 50 questions in some way I'm guessing. Is there an answer key available for download anywhere or could you provide one? The questions aren't necessarily difficult for me to answer but for a class I am teaching I'd like to see the official answer key if one exists. Thanks and congrats on another excellent revision. Thanks so much for your work; I love your books and go through them repeatedly. Dave
  3. No plugins being used on any channels. Seven sends per channel for the headphone mixes. I could get a screenshot of the mixer window but not sure it would be much help. 17 mic inputs, no MIDI/Software Instruments, no plugins on any channel, 7 bus sends on each channel for the headphone mixes. The 7 sends for the headphone mixes were sent not to Aux Channels but to regular Tracks with different output assignments in order to control level for each headphone mix. Used regular tracks and not Aux Channels because Aux Channels get disabled in Low Latency Monitoring mode.
  4. Hey LPH, I was helping out with a live session at a studio on Friday that consisted of 8 musicians and 17 active mic inputs; no MIDI. We were running 7 headphone mixes and the problem was that as we incorporated the headphone mixes the latency kept increasing to the point of making recording impossible. If we just tested the setup with 1 active headphone mix there was no latency (or at least a very minuscule and acceptable level) for that headphone mix. As we started adding the other 6 headphone mixes the latency started mounting with each addition and ultimately we had to suspend the session. We tried all levels of of I/O Buffer settings and were utilizing Low Latency Monitoring. When LLM was active I of course had to Low Latency Safe all of the headphone bus sends. The session specs were as follows: Computer: MacMini 2018 3.2 Ghz. 6-core Intel i7 - 32 GB's RAM Main Interface: Focusrite Red 8 Pre Auxiliary Interfaces Connected via DANTE Ethernet: Focusrite MP8R and two Focusrite X2P units Session Drive: OWC USB-C Mercury Elite Pro Dual Mini Enclosure w/two 1 TB Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD's in a RAID 0 configuration Any feedback or comments on what the cause of our issue might have been or how to rectify it will be greatly appreciated. This was the inaugural recording for a newly built studio and the musicians all drove over 3 hours for what was supposed to be a 3-day recording project. It was quite a letdown to say the least when we finally had to throw in the towel. Thanks in advance for any replies. Dave
  5. Yeah, it may not be necessary to completely wipe out all of your CS Assignments to get it to work. I'm very happy with the MFT hardware and setup though and I do have a Classic PreSonus Faderport for finer volume fader control if I need it. I should really post a thread on the Faderport Classic as it is totally possible to use that with the latest version of Logic on Monterey and fully customize it. I dug around extensively on the internet and finally got the info on how to do it.
  6. For the pan knobs (-63 to + 63) or any other 0-127 MIDI parameter the movement is in 1 unit increments/decrements; no problems there. For volume faders it is not so precise. Tracking from -14 to 6 it scales from .4 increments/decrements to a best of .2. Below -14 and heading downwards it starts scaling to units of .8 and higher. At the lowest possible values I can access it goes from -71.2 to -62.4. The .2 resolution range is from -4.1 to 6.0. That is definitely useable for me and adequate. The .3 resolution range is from -8.8 to -4.1. I have all my Twister knobs set to Velocity Sensitive. The other settings (Responsive and High Resolution) do not make any difference or improvement. With Velocity Sensitive the slower you adjust the knob the finer control. I much prefer Velocity Sensitive to the other two settings. Again, for MIDI knobs it is awesome and you aren't losing any finesse. With volume it could be problematic for some who wouldn't be happy missing out on .1 dBfs increments. I personally don't have the ears to hear that difference so for me it works for what I wanted to achieve with the MFT. I have my MFT controlling sends and effects and it is great. Much prefer the feel of the rotary knobs and the conservation of desk space to a slab board of faders. You basically have 128 knobs with the MFT as you have 4 banks and each knob has an on/off setting that can be programmed differently. One trick is to use the Bome MIDI Translator to switch banks. I have it set up so I just press CONTROL + 1-4 on my keyboard keypad to switch through the 4 banks. Only way to go because switching banks with the side buttons on the MFT is not feasible at all for a mixing application environment and workflow.
  7. Yes, going into note attributes and adjusting stem length to raise the flags for up-stem dotted eigths and giving more open space for placing the dots was something I tried but because of the length of the flags in the Bravura font I would have really had to lengthen the stems to the point of the taller stems looking awkward and also touching notes above. I might open this project up again tonight and fudge with that idea again though. I'll post another screenshot later if I do. Thanks.
  8. Yes, I am aware of that (see above). Being a global control though it is difficult to find one setting for the horizontal placement that looks good on stems up and stems down for dotted eigths that have a flag. Keeping it inside the flag for stems up was the only viable option here but is pretty tight to my eye. Going outside the flags for stems-up dotted eigths with a flag was too far away from the notehead for stems down and also would have mandated moving notes manually for just about every measure too avoid collisions between the dot and other elements. Do you know if in the other 'usual suspect' notation programs (Finale, Sibelius, Dorico or Musescore) it is possible to move dots independently based on either stems up/down or individually per note?
  9. No way option to alter dot position in Note Attributes.
  10. Yeah, I would have used the Layout tool for respacing the notes w/in the measures; can't use the Layout tool for moving around dots though. I was hoping the global spacing parameters could have given me ability to space things out better as I desired but when I used the global approach I then ran into issues with the dots running into other items. Not sure I fully I understand or know how to get predictable results with the Constant Spacing and Proportional Spacing parameters.
  11. The one main limitation I ran into with this score was placement of the dots for the dotted eighths. The setting I chose was the only one where the dots weren't buried in the flags or subsequent other noteheads. This is one area of the Logic Score editor that is pretty limited and especially since it is a global control. Do other notation softwares allow for independent dot placement per note? I also could not get the global controls to achieve the same spacing as the Schirmer score and had I worked more to mimic their spacing I would have had to have done it all manually per measure. BTW, I was using the Bravura font.
  12. Thanks Dan. Yeah, those Schirmer scores were pretty wooly looking. Also, apologies to Jay Asher; it's Jay not Jeff per my previous post. I should know that as I went through his book. Sorry Jay. Thanks for all of the help.
  13. Hey V. Thanks so much for the kind words. It means a lot to me as I hold you in very high regard in terms of the Logic Pro Score discussions. In fact, your posts played a huge role in my being able to achieve what I did with this sample. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge here. I ran into a lot of roadblocks trying to replicate that Schirmer score and all of the solutions I needed came from the forum. Your posts, Doug Z, Ski and Jeff Asher had all of the answers. Thanks guys!!! It is amazing how wildly under discussed the Logic Pro Score editor is in the world of notation software comparisons. May I ask what other notation software you use besides Logic's Score editor? Or do you solely use LPX Score for all of your work? Dave...
  14. Here are the scores as screenshots. First is the actual Schirmer and the second is my mockup.
  15. Got it, thanks. Also, the link for the GIF animations is what I was looking for. Thanks David.
