  1. Hmm, I just tried, it does not seem to make a difference.
  2. That does work indeed, but it's a bit cumbersome to do it for every bar, and ends up with an inconsistent result.
  3. Hi all! I have a problem, where the lyrics and notes overlap vertically on my score : What is the best way to solve that issue? I've tried to look into "layout / global format" but couldn't find the right setting. - Can I change the bar above eights to be position on the other side, to avoid overlapping the lyrics? - Can I increase the space between the two rows? - Any other ? I also have a problem with horizontal spacing. The bars' width are too small, and the lyrics do not fit: How can I increase the bar's width? Thanks a lot!
  4. Yeah, I don't know of one. I am not sure there is an automatic way to do it at all.
  5. Yes, I agree in this particular case it works. In the general case (changing e.g. from a Harmonic minor to a major key) it will not work.
  6. So I have played some time trying different pianos. None of them actually fill the space in the way that I want. So now I am thinking that it might actually be an effect, or a mixing technique, that gives the sound I want. Here's another example of the type of sound I want : [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/pauvrediable/single-note-piano-gt/s-g5FIyTnE1sX[/soundcloud] Is anyone able to tell how to get a sound like this?
  7. Thanks Atlas, in the particular example I gave, that indeed works. I figured out that in the general case (changing to any arbitrary key) there is no function that does that in Logic.
  8. I am trying to get a piano that have a room-filling sound like this : https://soundcloud.com/pauvrediable/single-note-piano-gt/s-g5FIyTnE1sX I initially thought it might come from the piano software instrument that I was using. However, after using many different software instruments, I am now thinking this comes from an audio effect placed on the piano. Indeed, most pianos sound something like this (much more simple sound) : https://soundcloud.com/pauvrediable/single-note-piano-sw/s-FKm6ReFmMzr Is anyone able to tell me what audio effect (or other mixing technique) has been used to get a piano that sounds like the example at the top? Thanks!
  9. Hi all! I have a midi recording for piano. So I have all the notes in Logic Pro X. The current key is in E minor (using only one sharp : F#). I need to change it to Fminor (using 4 flats : B flat, E flat, D flat, A flat). How can I do that in logic pro x? I saw the transpose, but it seems to just move all notes by a semi-tone, whereas I need a proper key change. I also saw that I could set the key to Fminor, and then presse quantize to scale. But I was not sure that would be the correct way to do this, musically. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  10. You were right, adding simple background noise is not great. I might have to look into better software instruments. The stock "Steinway grand piano" is almost all the way there to my hear, so it's a bit of a shame. I was hoping that by tweaking it better I could get there.
  11. Following your advice, I feel I am starting to get a reasonable sound with the stock pianos of Logic Pro. The one thing missing is the low background noise that a real piano has. I feel the very clean, perfect sound of the stock pianos make it sound not 100% realistic. What is the best way to add this background noise? I tried using bitcrusher, at 14 bits. It seems reasonable, but I worry that a better hear than mine will hear the lower quality. Any opinion/tip on this?
  12. Fantastic, thanks a lot for this very detailed explanation, that's exactly what I needed. Among the stock pianos, the closest to a nice round sound is "Boesendorfer Grand Piano". Given that you are saying the stock pianos aren't terribly good, do you have other piano VST to recommend? Thanks!
