  1. I use a Logitech MX Ergo as well for more exact tasks. Fair warning: it's a trackball mouse, but I find it to be a lot easier to operate than the Magic Mouse. In conjunction with the Trackpad it has accelerated my workflow. The MX Ergo has a precession mode that lowers the DPI considerably and is useful when fine editing automation or leveling your tracks in the gain staging phase of production.
  2. Ok I was able to do it and it seems fine for now, knock on wood. The only problem I am running into now is that new sounds that I download are downloading in the Music Creation section of my internal storage even when my Sound Library location is on my external SSD. Any tips on how to amend this? Would it be ok to transfer those two folders on over to the external SSD manually without any problems? Thanks.
  3. I found this post hilarious! Now you have me pondering the same question! haha I think what is going on…if I were to guess…is that there is no limiting going on and a low threshold? So therefore you are distorting the signal and not having any sort of limiting going on. Limiting is essentially compressing something with a high ratio. Idk if any of this makes sense to you or not. But there ya go. My answer.
  4. What I'll try to do is first remove the Sound Library from my external SSD. Uninstall Logic Pro. Then reinstall Logic Pro on the internal SSD and the Sound Library on the external. Wish me luck. I'll do it tomorrow since it's late where I live.
  5. It is in relation to this topic btw. https://www.logicprohelp.com/forums/topic/143038-logic-pro-x-fails-to-install-sound-library-content/
  6. As the title suggests. It constantly wants me to install the "Essential Sounds Library" which I already have plenty of times and is really irritating. And when I do it adds up to the System Data of the computer. And then this feedback loop repeats itself. Why can't Logic Pro's Sound Library sync up to my external SSD? (Let me know if this should go to the Logic Pro Bugs forum instead.) As many of you know Apple charges thousands of dollars for a new computer that has 2TB of internal storage (not even including the RAM). I am actually considering upgrading my Mac mini M1 256GB to have more internal storage. It would cost around a seventh of the price of an Apple certified refurbished Mac mini which costs roughly $2,000USD including tax. Granted that used Mac mini has an M2 Pro chip in it and 32GB of RAM and only 1TB of storage space. No surprise there, but still, something I was considering would be a solution to my problem. Now I am considering going with a contact that can do this 2TB upgrade for half the price of a new base model M2 Mac mini which is $600USD currently...yes it would be a $300USD job including labor. (If some of you want that contact look at Luke Miani's YouTube video on this subject and see for yourselves.) I am willing to fork out that money to solve this problem unless some of you have another approach at solving this. P.S. I know some of you might be skeptical if upgrading the storage on an M1 Mac mini is even possible. It is technically possible according to not only Luke Miani's friend but Rossmann Repair Group and to the two Chinese engineers that made that feat possible. This "upgrade" is specific to the M1 line of Mac mini's though FYI. Now if you want to is another story. I like to preserve my tech and not be so consumeristic all the darn time. That is just me though.
  7. I think that a sole subscription model makes more sense in an iPadOS context. Apple will eventually make a SaaS for Logic Pro on desktop but I think they will probably follow the Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Office Professional route rather than say an Adobe CC route. What I mean by this is that they might make two versions of Logic Pro. One that is a monthly/yearly subscription that updates regularly and one with a perpetual license where you can purchase a new version every few years. This is just an opinion but a smart move from Apple to keep legacy users on board. At any rate, if they only make a SaaS oriented Logic Pro, hopefully side-loading won't become an issue... What I mean by side-loading is running Logic Pro on an external SSD.
  8. LP will be available for iPads with A12 bionic chip or later, so technically LP will work on your machine. However, FCP will only be available for iPads with M1 chip or above.
  9. Also in iZotope's Ventura compatibility page they state that Nectar 3 Plus isn't fully compatible, but that plug-in has been working so far? That one also is in most of my vocal chains. Neutron 4.4.0 and newer is compatible but it isn't working as well when I was starting to use it yesterday? I don't know.
  10. Yes it does play, my MIDI keyboard isn't registering the notes but when I click on the keys on the screen sound plays back. I am not sure what you mean by this. If I am understanding you correctly, I did move my Kontakt instruments onto my external SSD way before the clean. The Kontakt samples weren't deleted in other words. Note: I don't think it's a routing related issue. Usually when there is routing related issue Kontakt issues a pop-up window stating that the samples are not where they are supposed to be. But in this case nothing appears. Update: This problem is also appearing to affect vocals that I previously recorded as well. Maybe this is a plugin related issue. I was having finicky issues with iZotope before the clean. Specifically with their Neutron plugin version 4.4.0. The reason I cleaned my computer in the first place was because I wanted to make Neutron work more efficiently. I was also having trouble with it validating on Final Cut Pro, but it successfully validated on Logic Pro.
  11. For context: I was doing some spring cleaning on my Mac. Deleting local Time Machine backups that were eating up space. I also used an application that is similar to CleanMyMac called BuhoCleaner. I might have deleted some important cached information from Logic in the process. The problem: Whenever I open up a saved project that is on an external HDD, formatted correctly to macOS Journaled mind you, third party AU instruments like Kontakt, Serum, or Vital aren't playing back MIDI data that was already recorded and saved. Only when I create a new instances of those instruments does sound play back and save correctly. Troubleshooting: I tried to delete AudioUnitCache. Didn't work. I also tried to save a copy of the project onto my local Desktop. Didn't work either. I opened up older projects to see if the problem persists. It does. I also tried restarting computer, that didn't solve the problem either. Note: Audio samples like one-shot kicks or snares play back just fine, but the problem lies with the external AU instruments I think. Native software instruments like Alchemy and RetroSynth work fine to playback sound that was saved at an earlier date. Maybe I'll need delete Logic Pro and reinstall it. Hopefully I won't have to.
  12. I know what you mean by latency now. That when I hit the Octapad's pad, the Conga came in late on the meter. But it is interesting it was hitting it right to the meter LOL. That is something truly weird. Sometimes things get confusing and complicated. I am sorry for my confirmation biases. 😅
  13. @polanoid Hmm it seems as though you were correct. I also removed the busses as well, but yes. It seems as though one of the plugins was creating that "latency." Thank you.
  14. I don't think it is a latency issue because the beat actually goes straight onto the meter; it doesn't actually delay, like I mentioned in the OP. Instead of going on the "and" it goes straight onto Beats 1 & 4 and 2 & 3. I am going for a Reggaeton (Dembow or Pounder) kind of beat which has syncopation. I'll check the other tracks, primarily vocal. Maybe there is a problem there.
