I have a question about how the delay parameter works with quantization. Does the delay parameter effectively move the location of the beat for the purposes of quantizing? That is my hope. I have a track where the feel is behind the beat, and I want to quantize without losing the feel. In other words, I want "late" notes to remain untouched, but "early" notes (which are actually on the beat) to be quantized to be later. I hope that's clear! The delay I am talking about is a parameter in the Region window:
The other possibility is that quantization is done first and then the quantized result is delayed by the amount specified, which would not give me the results I want. I want quantization to leave notes behind the beat alone.
I called Apple support, and the answer was, mmm, "less than confidence inspiring"
BTW, I do understand about swing, q-range, and q-strength, none of which do exactly what I am looking for. This was something I did all the time in MOTU Digital Performer before moving to Logic Pro, so I assume it works the way I want, but I don't want to assume.
