I use Discard Recording and Return to Last Play Position religiously. After updating to 10.5, I noticed that the list of files to delete when performing a 'Clean Up' in a session was comparatively massive to what it used to be in 10.4.x. Upon further investigation, Discard Recording and Return to Last Play Position does, in fact, remove the region from the arrange window and return the playhead to its last position, but it does not remove the audio file from the project as it did before. I tried deleting prefs, but there was no change to that behavior. My workaround is to use the 'save and clean up' key command once in awhile.
I'm not sure if this was an intentional change in 10.5, but I thought it worthwhile to mention it.
