  1. I can load up my Spitfire BBCSO Orchestra patches with the default single mikes fine. But when I try to load the other mic positions (close, tree, room etc) my 64GB Ram gets eaten up in moments and Logic becomes unworkable. The only way I can then work with the track is to Freeze all the tracks, and then un-freeze one by one as I want to work on them, refreezing again to move on to another track. A bit tedious, a but of a bore, but it does work! I was just wondering if there was any preferred workflow or advantages to using Bounce in Place instead of Freezing tracks? I have sometimes found my freezings tracks have no sound, and I have to unfreeze, reload the patch, and then re-freeze. Maybe BIP in a more 'solid' solution? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
  2. OK - found another post which gave me at least part of the answer. And ti was something that had flittered through my mind. Logic now seems to think my piano is a 'control surface'. Bypassing all control surfaces fixed the issue. But now I have no control surfaces. So how can I tell Logic just to stop treating my piano as a Control Surface, but leave other CS's as they were?
  3. This used to work fine...but at some point (eg update?) in the last year recording midi from my Yamaha acoustic piano (with a midi gizmo on it) produces haywire effects in Logic. I just sense checked this by recording from it into Dorico, and it worked just fine (I had thought maybe my midi cable ws suddenly spitting out crazy signals...but doesn't seem to be). So what is happening? As I play the piano, the Logic Window keeps resizing, disappearing, jumping about..and the midi note data doesn't get recorded into Logic. I think some weird SysEx data might be being spit out? In any case this is hugely holding me back, and I have no idea why it's happening, or what I can do about it. Has anyone ever heard of this before? Any ideas..?! Thank you!
  4. Thank you! Well, that fixed it, so it's def those plugins... I'll contact support. Thanks for your swift help.
  5. Thank you! Will try that. Now just need to find that Components folder...
  6. If I try to open Logic normally is crashes every time. If I hold Control right after launching Logic it will open, but with no audio. If I go to Preferences and change the audio settings, say to 'System Setting', it crashes immediately. Plugin Manager is greyed out so I can't access this. I did buy 2 new vst's from Amplesound yesterday, and Logic crashed while loading them. And now I seem to be completely stuck! Any ideas? Thanks!
  7. Interesting...when I bounced the whole project down to stereo for my ref mix it was fine. But when I bounced each track in place to send to a pro mixing guy, I had this issue. Can I real-time bounce each track dependently?
  8. NB: EWE Support seem to think I had more than one patch loaded in Play, including their WordBuilder, which is a 'plugin within a plugin', and this can cause some confusion for Bounce in Place. So the solution would be to make sure you only have a single patch loaded in each instance of Play.
  9. Thanks for the reply. No, there's no automation in these tracks. EW support just asked for the Logic file, and as it's quite a big project I thought I'd cut it down to just the tracks/bars that were having the issue. And of course in this cut down project the bounce worked fine! So there is something in/about full project that is causing this... Anyway, in my experience EW support is pretty good, so I wait to hear what they say (they may of course just come back and say it's a Logic issue...)
  10. Has anyone come across this before, and any idea what I can do about it? It's so weird. I have EastWest Symphonic Choirs, and VST is sining 'Ahhh' - bu the bounce in place sings 'Oooh'!! No idea why. The Bass & Tenors sound fine, but the Altos and Sopranos switch. There's also a weird volume spike when the Soprano's come in, that isn't there in the live VST playback. I'm at a loss! Any advice very welcome! Thank you.
  11. ...and the answer is to Option+click the track! That does it. Thanks to an earlier post for that.
  12. Is there a way to A/B two tracks, by simultaneously muting one, and soloing the other, ad then flipping back and forth with a single key stroke (or combination key stroke)? I've tried selecting both tracks and muting, hoping it would toggle, but both tracks just do the same thing at the same time. I need them to alternate. Thanks.
  13. Could be that. Thanks. I'll ask the sender!
  14. Someone sent me a Logic file for me to add some parts. But it takes forever to open, and then again to save. What seems to take the time is the 'Searching' Logic is doing for some audio or sample files. (See attached image). Does anyone know why it would be doing this, and what I can do to stop it? Thanks!
