1. which music industry? where do you get your 'information'? meanwhile, here, 10.2.4 is running fast & stable. been using apple products for over 30 years. you must not remember the VST to AU nightmare. you must not remember the PPC to Intel Chip nightmare you must not rememeber the universal binary nightmare you must not remember the 32 bit to 64bit nightmare you must not remember when a $300 PC could run more platinum reverbs and delays on logic 5 then a $2000 apple or when a simple . update could break your favorite plug ins... The first time my 10.10 booted I thought my mac was broken...
2. where is the work around? im having problems with my phatmatic pro it keeps asking for the serial number
3. why are you using logic x? its so unstable use 9. its better
4. there is a rule in the music industry when using apple products.... "if it aint broke....dont fix it"
5. "Apple" doesn't think. Brands can't and don't think. People think. The people working for Apple on Logic Pro did not think that. You thought that. Wrongly. Do you really believe that in LP 8, 9 and X you can only set the BPM in whole numbers? Yeah but when I have to stop working, and find out why and where logic put the option to put it back, I get frustrated. I mean, technically logic 7 has everything you need to make music for the next 20 years or so, maybe longer. Hell, pro tools just got offline bounce not to long ago...we had that almost a decade ago...
6. What plug-in gave you this problem? Just curious as 32 Lives has worked perfectly fine here. Logic 9 will open Logic 7 song files as long as they were saved with at least version 7.2. J. really? they will open? I will test it out. this is good hopefully the really work and wont have bugs during the conversion....as I could still make music in my beloved 7.2.3 and just go to 9 when I need to use a side chain. I used phatmatik pro and it had horrible pops and clicks.
7. I do it all. even music videos which I still use final cut pro 7, because I hate the final cut pro x GUI also. a couple of video people I know still use FCP7 and hate the new version. apple is a very unprofessional company if you ask me, backwards comparability is important, and with the way apple breaks things I encore people to use adobe products and not invest money, and more importantly TIME, into apple products... I am still using emagic version of logic....
8. I been using logic since logic 4 after apple took over they have destroyed the program. Im still paying off my credit card for VST pluggins bought in the late 90s early 2000 that never made it over back then it was the VST to AU nightmare...you had to wait a couple of years before the plugins made it over. and guess what? VSTS did not sound better then AU pluggins... and 64 bit plugins just use more ram... they dont sound better then 32 bit plugins ... Im using logic 7, with many plugins on my i7 laptop, its NEVER chocked... I can put many many platinum reverbs on it without it choking like it did during the old power pc days. my point is, the only thing you get from upgrade with apple, is a headace
9. tried it and resulted in horrible pops and clicks. how can I update my logic 7 songs to 9. 9 wont open 7 songs. (typical logic nightmares I have seen throught the years)
10. im still using logic 7.2.3 the only reason im debating updating is because the sidechain option is missing from the GUI....if I can find a way to side chain without using the GUI...guess what, im staying on logic 7!!!
11. I have been using logic since logic 4... ever since apple took over logic, its been a nightmare.
12. I need to know the last version of logic to use 32 bit plugins
13. because apple dismantled the logic program since they have bought it and turned it into garage band pro. all of the professional features of logic have been stripped away, and with each update, another critical professional features get stripped away I tried the newest version of logic, and as soon as I opened it I closed it and went back to working on logic 7 I guess apple thinks we live in a perfect world where we dont need to find tune the BPMs... anyways I fixed my problem by chaning my saved au settings from MYAUSETTINGS.AUPRESET.PST (how they were on 10.7) to MYAUSETTINGS.AUPRESET I removed the .PST for the endings and they now read on logic 7 in mavrricks
14. I am running logic 7 on mavricks. the only problem I have is when I transferred my plugin settings from my old install, I can load up any presets I saved . for example, if I saved a sound on 1 pluggin and called it MY FAVORITE DELAY I can see it says MYFAVORITEDELAY.AUpresset on the plugin menu but it wont read the settings
15. I think apple will soon bump logic. Apple has turned into a consumer company, they make more money selling ipods and iphones, so soon there might not be a logic.
