  1. Very interesting, thanks! BTW, where exactly are the channel Strip settings saved to, in the Finder? And where are Templates stored, as well? I just lost a drive with many of these on it, and when the replacement backup drive arrives I need to know where to look and where to drag. TIA! Never mind, found them both easily: MacHD/Library/Application Support/Logic
  2. Of course, the Ultimate MIDI FX Step Seq IS Numerology: http://www.five12.com/hq/N4 Sadly, Kirnu Cream seems to be broken with recent Logic versions and not attended to by the dev. There's a free version available via Computer Music magazine; buy one digital copy and get access to a boatload of free plugins, usually in simplified versions branded CM; CreamCM is one of these, and that version appears to be OK as a MIDI FX. Chuthlu and Thesys are both great, too, working well. Just read up on Rozzer (https://maxforlive.com/library/device/231/advanced-step-sequencer), and Numerology does all that and much more, as does the HY Seq Collection 2.
  3. Here's a good search result for exploring further…altho I haven't yet found other CC-generating Step sequencers of much interest (that's MY current enthusiasm, which the two I mentioned above being great for this). There's another HY seq with similar CC powers as the Seq Collection 2: HY-SEQ16x3v2. It's a bit less expensive, but harder to control, it seems, in my brief exploration. https://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/midi-fx-utility (you can narrow the search in useful ways…)
  4. Just found this in a search for AU MIDI FX step sequencers, sorry to have missed it earlier. Right now, I'm using several I bought, will report on these and what else I find ASAP. (Also don't know Rosser.) Here's the ones I already have which are both great, but the HY one is the better bang for the buck, since it does lots of other MIDI sequencing stuff, too. https://hy-plugins.com/product/hy-seqcollectionwinmac/ https://dialogaudio.com/sequenceprocessor/index.php
  5. You're welcome:) And for those who just want the script as a Kontakt Preset, so you can most easily use it with any and all instruments: TuneMod in Semitones.nkp.zip Put it in Documents/Native Instruments/Kontakt/presets/Scripts
  6. SOLVED!! In Kontakt, thanks to a brilliant, generous post from Stephen23. Here's the link to the thread: https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/modulating-kontakts-master-tune-knob.360097/#post-1820581
  7. I definitely will now that I have these numbers, thanks! EDIT: Well, now I have, and if there's a way to use either of these to improve on host automation, I can't see it. The Smart control offers exactly the same not-editable too-coarse granularity as Host automation does for this control (no way to target specific semitones except for 0 and 18, no way I can see to adjust or specify anything different except with curves, not numbers, or by reducing the available steps, not increasing them. And the Modifier doesn't either; it's just got a scaling slider, no stepping or precise value adjustments available.
  8. Just got this info from my topic on this issue in the NI Kontakt forum: Which sounds great…but how to implement with any of Logic's built-in tools? TIA for any ideas!
  9. Track based; it's just a short exemplar to show the issue. Here's a screen grab from a thread I started about automating Kontakt, including the main points from the Moderator, a Kontakt programmer—bottom line, MIDI CC won't cut it. But neither does Logic automation, apparently, which is why I brought my questions over here: I just tested this in a trial version of Reaper, and sure enough, it can capture the semitones just fine, though it's nowhere near as easy to manually enter or edit afterwards as Logic, with its Automation Edit list. Still can't quite accept that Logic should be so crippled in this regard with such a basic plugin and with automation of all things, hoping I'm missing something! [my gif shows me working with manually entered automation using the marquee tool, which is a great thing—otherwise, anyway.]
  10. Greetings, just been trying to automate, and edit, the Kontakt Tune knob and finding that the resolution available isn't sufficient to adjust to the results to semitones. It's way too coarse; seems a weird failing for Logic to have…or is it Kontakt? Any insights/workarounds? TIA!
  11. Thanks for the alert on this, and for keeping on top of it; much appreciated!
  12. Whoa! WHAT a goldmine! Thanks so much! Come up with some products, I'll be first in line:)
  13. Thanks for the reply. I'd kept working on this, and eventually realized that it DOES make sense that with the demix checked not all the tracks would work at once for me, since the whole point, I presume, is that this setting is for when different data is coming in on each channel—which it does when I hit play in RC, where each track is set to a different channel. And when I want to play on all tracks, the demix option SHOULD be un-checked so each channel gets the same data. I get it now (well enough, anyway), recording is working from RC; sorry for bothering you all!
