  1. Right ok thanks that's really helpful. (my drummer is amazing but has a habit of speeding up ever so slightly at each chorus and so you end up with a song that's about 50bpm quicker at the end
  2. Further to my last comment I set the quantise to auto, is slicing if you want to manually quantise it bit by bit? I’ve also realised it doesn’t make it the tempo that’s set so that’s fine. If I wanted to program in a synth part, could I make that part of the drum group so it quantises you them?
  3. Hi David thanks for such a quick reply, could I just ask 1 last question?! So although the tempo says 170, we didn't record to a click track at all so it's not at 170, will flex just quantise to the nearest tempo or will it try to make it 170? Also if I amend that tempo will it make my drum track go up and down? Thanks in advance
  4. Hi so I'm trying to quantise live drums which I've done before using a video. I'm using a different YouTube video tutorial to do it. I've created a group, allowed quantise etc but I can't see quantise in my regions menu and can't scroll up. I know this is something really simple so feel stupid asking but it's driving me crazy! Please see my screen shots, one showing his with the quantise option and mine without! Please put me out of my misery so I can continue sorting the track out!
  5. Thanks for all your help. I learned a lot nonetheless!
  6. O MY GOD! I think that might have been it all along! This is what I was asking about in my first message!!! I never knew about this but I just unticked it!!
  7. Cheers, although the reverb does bleed cause I can visually see it bleeding to the other side, I still hear the same sound through both earphones, surely the channel with the reverb bleed would be a lot quieter and sound like more spacey and further away. I wouldn't mind a touch of bleed if the main sound was loud enough. This is making me think surely this could be a logic setting or something with the earphones? I had a song a while ago that I accidentally recorded in stereo but it just recorded on the left channel, through both sets of earphones I tried using, the same sound came through both ears. It wasn't until I bounced the track and played it in my car, that I realised it was only coming through 1 side. I've just got my studio monitors back so might have a listen through them. This track was just made so I could practise panning and automation for a new track with live instruments that I'm working on.
  8. Sorry for the late reply had to go for a quick walk up Maul Famau with the missus. So had to do it in 2 screen shots as it's quite big:
  9. So I've changed bus 3 to stereo, I hadn't noticed that thanks. And although when I play the track, I can see on the fader only the left track is playing, same sound is coming through both sides of my earphones. Once I've sorted it what I'm going to do is automate it so it sounds like it's traveling from left to right. Ideally full volume in left, totally silent in right, then gradually moving until full volume in right and silent in left. I know how to do the automation, once I get a true pan. Again thanks in advance.
  10. Sorry just did this but still not working. I'm fairly new to logic so a bit of an idiot! Would you be able to say it in layman's terms?! Do I change bus 6 and bus 3 both to post pan? Are these not just panning the effect? Thanks in advance for the help.
  11. You're still sending both L+R to bus 6, to avoid that, change the send to post pan. Ahh right ok thanks. This will help alto as sometimes I can't her it in mix but then if I bounce it, I can hear it say when listening in the car.
  12. That track comes with the latest version of logic as a demo project so it’s all there for you. The synth that is all through it from the start is ES1 Dark Pad with some eq
  13. I’ve been in a band for years so songs usually grow from jams and ideas you all play around with. When I record on my own I make songs just for a laugh, I can fart a melody out in my sleep and if you don’t take yourself to seriously you can write a song about anything. If it sounds good you can always rewrite the lyrics but at least you’ll have a full song to practise with. I’ve been releasing comedy songs over look down about everything from folk songs about being in my garden to psychedelic funk rock songs about invisible cobras. I find once you get some music down, ideas just flow into your brain and it quickly and organically becomes a different beast. But that’s just me!
