  1. I've been on board since Logic 7, which I paid $1000 for. Last week I was about to buy a $200 analog software synth for scratch work. Fast forward to today. I can still pay just $200 for Retro Synth AND get the Logic X upgrade and all of it's improvements for free. For me, there's absolutely nothing to complain about and many things to praise.
  2. I'm very sorry. I thought I was being specific but I just looked back and realized that I accidentally omitted the one thing I was talking about. It is one-hit dance pop DRUM samples that I am looking for. Didn't mean to cause you extra work. But thanks.
  3. I'm a bit out of my normal waters here, but could someone suggest some sample packages for the ESX24 that would be useful on a modern dancepop project... for something along the lines of Katy Perry, Pink, Calvin Harris, Maroon 7, etc.? PS - And please don't go "ugh". I have enough of those coming from my own mind for all of us. Just need some straightforward advice. thanks.
  4. I am interested in adding a hardware/software electronic drum package to my set up. Because I have never used any other sequencer or daw in conjunction with Logic, I have no experience with how it works or it's stability. Admittedly, part of what is driving this is my lack of ability to see the GUI in Ultrabeat clearly. But also drawn to the other features of Spark and Maschine including the sound libraries and step sequencing. Could anyone offer opinions on this subject? Or your alternatives to Ultrabeat? Thank you.
  5. I'm a type 1 diabetic and my sight is slowly but steadily becoming more of a problem. Ultrabeat and ES2 have both become very difficult for me to read. I'm not very informed about Logics resolution possibilities but was wondering what monitor(s) would give me the highest quality without reaching diminishing returns. Thanks for any suggestions.
  6. thank you so much Creativecollective. Problem solved. Disconnect midi-cable. Who'd a thunk it? Syncsailor
  7. two weeks ago, I retired my Yamaha KX88 controller because it was stuck in "dual"mode which resulted in duplicate note data being sent to Logic and causing it to be out of phase. So I bought an Axiom pro 61 this week. Same problem. It is sending duplicate note data. Or else, Logic is reading it as duplicates. I post this here because I know some of you use the Axiom Pro. Is there something in Logic that I could have set incorrectly? I have checked the Axiom manual pretty thoroughly. By some strange happening, could a faulty midi cord be the cause. I'm flummoxed and desperate. Sure could use some help. Thanks, Syncsailor
  8. Thanks guys. Very helpful. I finished up the transfers. Also have 8g of Ram on the way. My logic life should greatly improve soon. Tommy
  9. This is probably an elementary question, but I have never used more than a single hard drive with logic. Now I have three. (600g, 1T, 1T) My understanding from reading other threads is that I should put Logic on a different drive than the system software and put the recordings and samples on the third drive. My question though, is how do I do that exactly. How do I know what folders to move where. And do I just drag them from one drive icon to the other? Is there an extensive list somewhere. I desperately don't want to screw it up and render the whole thing unusable. I would appreciate any help you have to offer. Tommy
  10. Also... I only have 3gb of ram. Could this be part of the problem? Though I only have about 4 passes using software instruments and I haven't even recorded vocals and consequently have not started mixing and adding effects. I have done projects in 9.1.3 that are much larger with no problem. One more thing. These problems are on songs that worked fine in 9.1.3 and no tracks or or processing has been added in the interim.
  11. Yes, David. Working on a track that I started in 9.1.3. But strangely, I am getting a "Memory is getting low" message a few bars before I see the "system overload message. I've never seen that before and I'm not sure what memory it is talking about. Is it talking about my internal RAM or some kind of memory allocation problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Just upgraded to 9.1.4. Now i'm getting overload and low memory problems out the wazoo. Is there something in particular that I need to reset? Also, I've never seen the low memory message before. Is there something about it that I need to check? Thanks
  13. Found the solution to the first problem doing a search. Which was... KX88 controllers can get bumped into dual mode by a querty keyboard sitting on top. Now... Anyone happen to know how to remove a large batch of duplicate notes at one time? thanks.
