  1. everytime i turn on my computer, the input level meter on my interface overloads for a second (this thing has been bothering me for years, never found a good answer on the internet for some reason) if my speakers are on before i turned on my mac, or when i don't turn off the speakers before i turn off my mac, the speakers would a loud pop sound (because of this, i never turn speaker on before computer) when my iMac is on, and i unplug the interface, connecting to laptop, the interface would again spike is this normal? is there another way around? will this damage my computer ???
  2. i started writing music on iOS GarageBand, then MAC GarageBand, so Logic was not very difficult for me, recently i tried FL Studio and Ableton Live (I've heard these 2 softwares are beginner-friendly), fl and ableton are so difficult that I started to doubt my IQ !!!, so I guess all DAWs are pretty much the same in terms of learning curve, but after you learn one DAW, other DAWs will become counter-intuitive, thus feeling more difficult Also i think it has something to do with MAC and WINDOWS, I'm a MAC guy, so I find logic intuitive, but for people who're used to WINDOWS, they probably would find logic (and mac os in general) weird
  3. Canada is so beautiful!!! especially the trees!!! i've traveled to USA once, i remember chicago and boston also have those kind of beautiful trees
  4. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! sorry for the super-late reply! for some reason, i didn't noticed your answer in my notification!!! YOUR ANSWER SOLVED MY QUESTION!!! : )
  5. i was born in shenzhen grew up in guangzhou (also known as "canton") both cities are in southern china 😀
  6. my favorite is OPPENHEIMER, very glad it got 13 oscar nominations, don't know how many awards they're gonna get
  7. i love this forum! i wonder where are you guys from?
  8. alright guys, so a few days ago, I bought a magic trackpad for scrolling, turned off scrolling on my magic mouse (it's in system setting/accessibility/pointer control), and tried using these 2 together, it did solve the cursor problem, but i have to move my arm a lot between mouse and trackpad, or keyboard and trackpad (depend on where i put the trackpad), my shoulder and elbow soon feel stressed, so this didn't work so i returned the trackpad to the apple store (got a refund within 5 minutes, awesome!) as i said before, i couldn't use just the trackpad, because my fingertips would get irritated (plus i love super fast midi note dragging, i can't do that with a trackpad) i'm thinking of contacting apple support, see if they can fix this problem with the magic mouse, also, if they can improve the cursor for left hand users
  9. i've bought a logitech mouse, and a razor mouse, indeed no more cursor problem, but when i scroll, my movements on my screen is just bad, not smooth at all, i've tried those mac scrolling apps/extensions, doesn't really work, also, with a 2-button mouse, i have to press a modifier key for horizontal scrolling, bummer
  10. my brother bought a macbook (he also produce music with logic), i tried using his macbook for a while, but i can't get used to producing with only trackpad lol! (don't know why, but my fingertips would get irritated) my brother on the other hand, is really fast with the trackpad, he bought a mouse but doesn't even use it! and like you said, i feel music production with a DAW, really stress the whole upper body, even my lats starts to sore after too much mouse usage, so i like to switch hands, i use the mouse with my right hand for a week, then my left hand, at first it was super hard with the left hand, but now, my left hand is just as good at controlling the mouse, as my right hand
  11. thanks for the tip!!! but this still doesn't solve my problem 100 percent, i think i'm gonna buy a trackpad, and use it alongside my mouse haha1
  12. whenever i select something, and try to move it, magic mouse starts to scroll around (i've attached a video for showcase, but it's very low-res) this thing have bothered me for years, i've tried 3rd party mouse, those don't scroll randomly, but when i do try to scroll, it's not smooth at all (magic mouse have super smooth scrolling when i actually do scroll), then i tried installing those scrolling apps/plugins for MAC, still bad, also, the 3rd party mouses i've bought can't scroll horizontally, major downside. i saw people using trackball for music production, but i personally find those cursors uncomfortable, i'm thinking of buying a trackpad just for scrolling, turn off the scrolling on my magic mouse, and use these 2 together but i hope apple fix this thing, i think it's possible, by disabling 1 finger scroll and enabling 2 finger scroll on the magic mouse (just like the trackpad on any macbook), they can fix this (i've looked on the internet for apps/extensions with this feature, didn't find any) have you guys experienced similar problems? magic mouse issue.mov
  13. well said! if the ipad version is like that, then it'll be a really useful DAW! btw, is apple the only company making professional DAWs for both desktop and tablet?
  14. i wish to mix with audio files, but i also want all the plugins and settings from the original midi tracks to be there, i tried "bypass plugin effect" but after bouncing and replace, logic deletes all my plugin inserts, i can theoretically 1. turn off all the plugins, automations, bus sends on the original midi tracks 2. bounce to new audio tracks 3. then drag all the plugins, automations, and bus sends from the original midi track, to the new audio track but that would take too much time, is there a better way to do this?
