  1. Ok, I see. I have now found a way of taking the patchnames from the manual, pasting them into TextEdit, and then copy/paste them into Logic in the MIDI Environment. A little time consuming, but It seems to work:-) Thanks for your help.
  2. Hi, Thank you for your very helpful reply. It helped me to further dive into this wonderful machine But what I actually asked, and forgive me it probably got lost in translation since English is not my first language, was how do I name the different patches in Logic. Just so that patch number 3 in Logic has the same name as on the Summit?
  3. Hi, I have recently bought myself a Novation Summit synth. Amazing instrument I have connected the Summit through my MIDI interface out, to Summit MIDI in, and it works. But what do I have to do to be able to choose between the different Summit patches in Logic? Do I need to import some file, or update some configuration or whatever? Thanks in advance...
  4. I did my homework and checked my hard-and software, and I was convinced I could upgrade. Then it turned out that Motu had falsely listed their MIDI Interfaces as compatible - they are not... after a couple of mails back and forth, Motu has now changed their webpage. But to late for me unfortunately. I have a bricked MIDI interface, but everything else works fine.
  5. It shouldn't matter as when you choose Kyle again, you're back to the Half-pipe preset. In any case in the following steps you customize the entire preset again so it truly shouldn't matter? Thanks David, I can see now that I didn't quite get the concept of preset, but I think I do now
  6. Hi David, I'm now reading through the book, and it's a pleasure But I have a question Lesson 2, creating a drummer track. In the beginning we fiddle around a little with different drummers, presets etc. But we end up with choosing Kyle playing on Max's East Bay drum kit. But by then I have tried different presets, so which of Kyle's presets is the lesson supposed to use?
  7. Great, I hope you enjoy my book Lars! Any questions that arise during any of the exercises in the book, do not hesitate to ask right here in the Logic Pro X forum! Thanks David
  8. Bought the Motu Micro Lite MIDI interface. Now everything is perfect in AMS Thanks for al the help
  9. Yes that's step number 4 in the tutorial. I know, but my point is this: If I for instance have 2 external MIDI tracks, and 1 software instrument track track that uses my MIDI controller as input, I have to record enable all 3. If I only record enable 2 of them, none of them will work. Only is I record enable ALL of them, they will work. I just think that's a little funny It can be done, yes. However In that case, the MIDI notes will no longer be routed to the Sequencer Input object, which means you won't be able to record them. Ok, then that's not the way to go ...
  10. Thanks David, that works. I have noted though that all tracks with MIDI input needs to be record enabled. If I forget one then it doesn't work. But besides that it does the trick can this be done using the environment too - a more advanced solution? From what I can see in Environment there are some possibilities to route instruments to tracks?
  11. Hi, I have a setup in Logic with 2 external MIDI tracks playing on 2 external MIDI instruments (Doepfer A-100 Modular and Behringer Model D). I would like to play these using 2 different controllers, so each controller is designated to it's own MIDI track. The controllers are an Arturia KeyStep and an Akai MPK Mini. both connected with USB and set to send on different MIDI channels. As it is now, I have to highlight a MIDI track to play it, and then it plays no matter which controller I play. I would like, that I don't have to highlight the track, and that my choice og controller decides which track plays and records. Can this be done and if so, how?
  12. Perhaps you could settle for a second hand unit. Considering that a MIDI interface is usually built with no moving parts which could wear out, you could then save quite a bit. It would be advisable to shop at a reputable store offering warranty on the items they sell, just in case. The Logic Pro Help website is hosted by David Nahmani. He is also the author of the book you are referring to. Learning Logic with this book will save you lots of headaches... It is highly recommended! Regarding the Environment, perhaps you are referring to this forum: Logic & MainStage Templates and Environments. Yes, that's the one thanks, and I bought the book (as eBook) yesterday. Looking very much forward to reading it
  13. Damn, I wasn't quick enough with the edit But yes an eBoob would also be highly appreciated
  14. Just bought the eBook - looking forward to many hours of reading
