  1. Hi all, I found this blog entry, which seems really helpful. Could anyone please confirm whether it's still current, before I proceed. Thank you! https://www.logicprohelp.com/move-logics-additional-content-secondary-drive/
  2. Hi, I'd like to conserve disk space & store all my apple loops etc. externally, including all the additional content. I searched around online sometime back, and i read that it can be done using an App called Symlink(?) BUT the write up on that was quite old. Could anyone let me know what the current state of affairs is for that, i.e. is it any more straightforward these days? Thank you.
  3. I'm at an 'almost full' state on a 2011 Mac Mini Server, on which I run Logic and my next upgrade will most likely be to an iMac. I found this article, which gave me a warm feeling with respect to being able to run the Mac Mini in parallel, via Thunderbolt, and I'm wondering if anyone here has the same, or similar circumstances? http://www.macworld.com/article/2142073/connecting-two-macs-using-thunderbolt.html Will I have to migrate everything to the later Mac, and use the older one just for external storage, or can they really be used in Tandem i.e. running Logic where it is now, and carrying on without being flustered by 'should I, shouldn't I' update decisions etc. Would appreciate any advice, as I'm not really a techie on networking, or all things I.T. Thanks!
  4. You're misunderstanding me Eric, but never mind. I'm out of the woods now. The instruction I pasted into the thread (which resolved my problem), was lifted from a 2012 thread on this forum. That wasn't what I got from IK support. Honestly, they haven't offered up any solution at all to date.
  5. Thank you for your help Eric. I confess, I wasn't too sure how to clear the cache, and when researching it, I came across an older thread (2012). The solution for this guy, has actually worked for me too. For completeness, this was/is the solution: Go to HD > library > application support > IK > delete the amplitube 3 folder. Go to HD > library > audio > plug ins > components and delete the amplitube3 file here now reboot and do this. Open the HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and Repair the disk permissions on your HD. Now reinstall the 3.8 update for AT 3 and retry it. IK's original response was very sparse. They basically said "oh really, thanks for letting us know". IF they do come back to me, I'll let them know, but I won't hold my breath. Again, thanks for the pointer.
  6. Hi Eric, I hadn't tried that, but unfortunately I get the beach ball and have to Force Quit Logic, and another tool (one that I don't recognise, and that could be something to do with the validation problem). I'll keep the photo and send it to the IK support guys. Still haven't had anything except and acknowledgement from them. Here's a screen shot:
  7. Just updated the signature as per your request. Any helpful suggestions to remedy my problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Very strange indeed. What's going on, Logic experts?
  9. Thanks for your replies. I'm running Amplitube version 3.14, which I'm pretty sure is current, and therefore 64 bit. Since Yosemite, I'm no longer up to speed on how to open Logic in 32 bit, and try a scan that way. (there's no longer a check box in 'get info').
  10. Has anyone experienced this scenario, or better still have a fix for it? My Mac Mini successfully scanned everything that I run, but no joy with Amplitube. The IK support team sent me a polite acknowledgement, but nothing in the week or so since. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
  11. Thanks for all the tips David. These may have been covered elsewhere however, worth sharing I think. I've found 3 really handy tips for refining the use of DRUMMER. Here you go: Tip: Multi-output for the kits, then '+' for each Aux. They get their own, pre-labelled(!) channels where you can pan and process. Yay! Tip: After selecting 'Follow', hit 'Option T' (or select it under 'options'), then as you hover the curser over the track headers a GOLD STAR appears. Selecting it makes it a groove track, which other tracks will follow exactly. (so, choose the groove track to be the one with the highest degree of syncopation) Tip: Splitting a Drummer region (backslash) will insert a fill at a point where you require a non-standard fill to be put into your track. The fill knob will then shape the length and complexity.
  12. I'll start .... I jumped out of bed this morning, and the first thing I said was 'Flex Pitch'. My wife bent over.
  13. The first time I played with drummer, the thing that came to my mind is 'expandability'. I expect (hope) there's going to be some verrrrry attractive expansions in the pipeline, and if they're competitively priced, they'll be seriously tempting.
  14. You poor chap. At least when you do take the plunge, you'll get a lot of bang for your buck.
