  1. Thanks for all your responses, I thought it would be helpful if you could hear the track to get a clear picture of what could be added for a more polished finish. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l8mQjKMKuSvXQCGKr7DOzR1mctTy2-mX/view?usp=drivesdk
  2. Hi Recently finished a soundtrack consisting of piano, strings, synth and sound FX, film tv type, and was wondering what FX processing tool I could further use in Logic to bring out more brightness and clarity to the track as I still feel it has a potential to shine better. I've already applied Logics Stereo Spread plug-in which has brought the track more to life, however, still a little inexperienced in the production field so any tips would be appreciated.
  3. Hi Recently purchased Yamahas P515 digital piano and intend to use either it's CFX or Bosendorfer as part of a score for a soundtrack. I'm used to working with piano sample library's editing piano in MIDI, but seeing as I'll be using the on-board pianos from the P515, how much piano editing can be done regarding audio? I'm aware such modifications as note velocity, adding, moving and correction of individual notes would not be possible, if I'm correct? Therefore was is the extent one can edit piano when working with audio using Logic Pro.
  4. Thanks for your response Jordi, will comply from the link and see how it goes, will get back to you.
  5. Hi, Anybody using Garritans CFX piano library in Logic Pro? Recently had an issue with a MacBook Pro which resulted in having to re-format the drive and install a new version of the OS. Logic Pro and it's sample library have been re-installed, and the CFX piano library is still on the external drive. However when trying to launch the CFX in Logic it confirms the samples can't be found, don't know why that is when the CFX samples are still in their relevant folders on the external drive. Do I need to perform a new installation of the CFX library? If so what is the procedure for re-installing the CFX Concert Grand sample library. MacBook Pro OS Catalina 10.15.7 Logic Pro 10.6.3 Abbey Road CFX piano sample library
  6. Thanks to everyone for your support on this post.
  7. A recommendation was to use midi controller lanes (lane sets) that can be draw in values for midi cc parameters, what ever that means? it sounds technical but would like to approach this option to see if it could be a solution? Therfore has anyone worked with the above, and how would I go about applying this method?
  8. Correct, It's an audio file therefore as mentioned adjusting velocity levels is not an option. I considered using compression to attenuate for the loud notes, but applying compression has a tendency to change the overall sound of the audio itself which is what I'm trying to avoid. I tried using automation to reduce the loud notes but found this caused the notes to sound slightly compressed and diminished which reduced the quality.
  9. Hi I'm trying to attenuate the dynamics on certain piano notes with a audio file in Logic, I work exclusively with midi, hence the reason I'm struggling with editing audio, how therfore can i reduce the velocity level, or as in audio the volume with certain notes Thanks.
  10. Thanks David, and everyone else for your support.
  11. The volume balance or as its commonly referred to the sweet spot -18dB, its this balance of -18dB and -10dB I've been floating at, with the exception of the highest peak at -2.5dB. I experienced the volume drop, referring to the "sweet spot" -18dB when applying the Limiter setting "Output Level" -4.5dB, visible in the post above. As mentioned with that Limiter setting I got the desired peak to drop from -2.5dB to -4.5dB, but at the same time the general balance volume dropped from - 18dB to -23dB, which decreased the overall volume of the track, which is what I tried to avoid, hope this makes sense? In any case, compression has done the job.
  12. No that didn't work, when applying the recommended settings the limiter reduced the peak volume level to -4.5dB, but the volume balance dropped also, so what to do in this case? I therefore experimented with compression and found having to set a threshold of -9.0dB to reduce the peak level to -4.5dB, its attenuated the dynamics a little, but got the peak down to -4.5dB and also maintained the volume balance.
  13. Will that limiter setting effect the balance volume between -18 and -15dB or will it maintain?
  14. Hi Regarding volume I have a track that floats between -18 and -15dB, however the track peaks at -2.5dB, I want to reduce the peak volume to -4.5dB, but at the same time maintain the current float level without decreasing the overall volume of the track, therefore what "Limiter settings" should I be applying for this? Logic Pro, Thanks.
