  1. Thanks. This is in line with what Ive been reading/thinking. I’m coming from a 10yr old quad i7 so yes everything will be an improvement. The AS is just a new way of utilizing the memory -among other things - so I’m looking to hit my sweetspot for future proofing without over doing my modest DAW needs (less than 48 tracks and few soft instr and modest plugins. ) After my last project I’m considering going back to a MBP w/ ext monitor instead of an iMac. I’ll have to wait and see what the larger iMac in 22 brings.
  2. Now (2021) that we've cross the threshold into Apple Silicon M1s, does the old theory/oractice of clock speed, core numbers, RAM, and storage still translate when using LPX and plugins? Im about to upgrade my 10yr old system and many 'reviews' and benchmarks online seem to be pointing to the 'middle' M1Pro 8 or 10 core over the higher end M1 Max. Most testing seems to be based in photo rendering/gaming, so thats that. How does the M1 architecture translates to Music production performance? —as well as choosing a new machine for the next 10yrs without the "go big or go home" attitude.
  3. yeah thanks guys, this is what I'd imagine. even the cost of adding two Samsung T7s isn't out of the question for libraries and Projects (if needed). so excited to move into a M1 Mac/THB3/SSDs and leave the dongles and RPMs behind
  4. Thanks for this info guys. Im upgrading my whole setup this coming year and hoping to have everything running on SSDs/Thunderbolt3/ USB3.2. I'm only running small projects with limited tracks (both audio /midi) and was wondering if it possible to now run 'everything' from internal SSD (MacOS + LPX + All libraries + projects) and a USB3 SSD for backup files. From your responses seems like running LPX +libraries and small projects all from Internal is doable in the age of THB3.
  5. @jakobP can you offer details or link to using the AUNetS/R plugins? Can these be setup over WAN? I'm trying to dig info with no luck.
  6. hi im also looking for a LPX P2P solution (preferable one that does not req subscription or month fee) A LPX version of VSTConnectPro would be AWSOME! im trying to get the AUNetSend/Rcv plugins working over WAN. Appreciate any insight Thanks
