  1. Thank you, David. In this GIF, yes, I am dragging it diagonally (unknowingly). I believe I did try simply vertically and horizontally as well other times. Like I mentioned, it doesn't happen every time. It randomly happens a few times every day. I will backtrace my steps when it happens again and try to reproduce it.
  2. Anyone seen this? I'm trying to figure out if it's just me or a bug.
  3. A few times a day I have this issue with trying to curve the MIDI CC automation in the Piano Roll. When I try to bend the automation it will either snap back to bend the opposite way. It doesn't happen every time I try to curve the automation, only random times. Is this normal or is it something on my end? Thank you.
  4. Thanks, David. "Automatic management of channel strip objects" is/was selected. I checked that before I posted my last reply, which is why I'm unsure how to prevent this. Hopefully this was a fluke.
  5. Alrighty, I think I found the problem. When I created a new instrument (Inst 9 in this case), Logic was assigning it to an instrument track I had deleted long ago, which is also Inst 9, except not all the Inst 9 channels were deleted in the Environment. When I found those left over channels and deleted those also the automation issue worked normal again. The more concerning issue with all this is Logic kept crashing when I tried to add any new instrument tracks after creating the Inst 9 track (when it was still linked). How do I make sure this doesn't happen again in the future? If I delete a track that has multi channels/tracks in the Main Window but I miss one of the channels, how do I make sure to find all the remaining channels? Is the only way by browsing the Mixer page in the Environment? Thank you.
  6. It's been a bit since I last used Logic so forgive me if this is a simple mistake on my end. When I add a new instrument track, Logic keeps resetting the fader to 0dB without any automation and Read turned off. I've used the command to delete all automation on the selected track. I know it's something in my project template because it doesn't do it with a new project. Hopefully there's just a setting I can't find. I'm running Logic 10.8.1 on a Mac Studio and Sonoma 14.3.1. I made a GIF but I don't know how to compress it to fit as an attachment, so here's a dropbox link. **EDIT** I don't even know how to get it to play from Dropbox, so sorry if it's not working. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7927d0ys8o4y9j8a7mbs0/Kapture-2024-02-21-at-13.16.12.gif?rlkey=gd6w6258to27qemz25ivf2cbd&dl=0
  7. Logic doesn’t have Chunks but it has Project Alternatives. From my own experience they are similar.
  8. I’ve noticed in 10.7 the Quantize value in the Piano Roll does not change when using key commands. I’ll press ‘next’ and ‘previous’ quantize value yet it only displays 1/16ths (unless I manually select a value with the mouse). Quantize itself still works, but I have no clue which value it’s on since the menu isn’t updating. Can anyone else confirm?
  9. That iMac is a very good computer. The 8-core or 10-core are both great so get whichever you can afford. Personally, I’d go for the 10-core because it’s barely slower than the 8-core and you get two more cores. Concerning the memory, I believe that generation of iMacs has user upgradable memory and, if so, it would be fine getting the lowest amount from Apple and upgrading elsewhere. But double check this before you commit to purchase. Alternatively, have you considered getting a newer iMac with the M1 chip? I believe that will last you longer since Apple is migrating from Intel chips.
  10. The best way to setup Articulation Sets with any Cinematic Studio library is to use CC58 for the articulation you want and then the note-keyswitches for legato (and/or other triggers). See the CSB PDF to find which CC58 value corresponds with which articulation. Concerning the shorts, they are selected on the dial via CC1 if you’re using the standard note-keyswitch. But I’ve found that the shorts work best by right-clicking on the dial and “unlearn” CC1, and then use CC58 instead. This way if you happen to have CC1 written during a shorts-passage CC1 will not affect which short articulation you’re needing. So for example, in the Articulation Sets window you will have the Output trigger CC58 at a value of 1 and (I think) G#-2 at a value of 127 to trigger Sustain Legato (this is just an example so read the PDF manual for exact values).
  11. Thanks for the response again, David. I can’t even get to the point of seeing the tracks when attempting to import. When in the media browser, I select the corrupt project and as soon as I press “import” Logic crashes. This also happens with CoreAudio disabled. I’ve tried opening on different computers as well and it still crashes.
