I'm pretty sure your solution will work, but I have trouble getting it to work. So, after some research, I think what I should do is:
- Configure an IAC bus with Apple's Audio/MIDI setup appl. And making sure the IAC driver is online.
- In Logic creating an External MIDI track (let's call this the Arrange track). In the External instrument plugin I'll choose the IAC bus in the MIDI destination. Furthermore I'll choose a MIDI channel of which I'm sure it will not be used for other purposes. If I understand correctly, this track will send the information to the IAC bus.
- So, what is sent to the IAC bus by the Arrange track, has to find its way back into Logic: In the Window / Open MIDI environment / Clicks & Ports I will then connect the Physical input to the Sequencer input.
Could you comment whether these steps are correct?
My second question is: how do I get the correct actions (start/stop play/record Live loops) in this Arrange track? I guess I have to use the Learn Mode, but I'm not really sure how this works without a hardware controller (I do have one, but I'm assuming that I won't need one for this purpose).
Hope you can help me out a bit further.
Thnx!!!
