  1. As far as I know, anything is possible with software. It can't be that hard to write a driver or convert the old one. I'm getting the feeling that Apple won't make this happen. There should be someone here that can write it. We could raise some money (pay $10 each), so that person can get a few hundred dollars or more, for his/her work
  2. Great points, Scott. That makes sense. Unfortunately the new 11.2 update hasn’t fixed it
  3. Yes it is amazing. But I doubt that there’s a fix in the next Big Sur update. The official 11.2 release doesn’t mention any fix regarding this and I’m not even sure that Apple is aware of this problem.
  4. UPDATE on Intel MacBook Air. I got it working on my laptop now. I manually transferred the midi driver (Unitor Family Driverw 2.5) to /User/Library/Audio/MIDI Drives and it worked right away without restart. It's also showing in Midi Studio. Did the same thing on my M1, but no luck
  5. I just tested the unit with my INTEL MacBook Air running Catalina. Same thing. Only detected via System Report. Could it be a usb cable issue? I tried with a different cable, no difference. Both cables are very old, maybe they’re usb 1.0. However, Mac OS is reading the unit but not in MIDI Studio
  6. Thanks, but Apple doesn't know sjit. They also don't provide service on the unit. Im not the only one with this problem https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252240829
  7. Correct. It doesn't show up anywhere, except in System Report.
  8. This is what I get. As mentioned before, connecting to different USB port doesn't make a difference.
  9. System Report. The interfaced is plugged into a hub. I also tried to connect it directly to the Mac's USB port. No difference.
  10. Please see attachment. As you can see, I've created IAC Driver in MIDI Studio because that's what I heard. I've never done this before. My AMT always worked automatically when plugged in for the first time after a hd format.
  11. I can’t remember, I’ll take a look next time I’m at the studio. What I remember is that it’s like not even connected when I’m in Logic or in MIDI Studio. But the computer sees the connection. So my unit is not dead. Someone else has described the exact same problem at Apple’s forum. Apple however told the person to ask around in their forum as they themselves couldn’t help him. I’m pretty sure it was ON the whole time I was battling with this issue. The installer might be outdated though. Or no?

  13. Does anyone know how to make the midi interface work in Big Sur/Logic X? The Mac mini does recognize the usb interface when I look in System Report -it states clearly “AMT8 USB” connected. But Logic and Audio/MIDI setup doesn’t see the interface at all. I’ve tried to install the “driver” that I downloaded from apple website. But unsuccessful. It says “the driver isn’t needed in the version of OS” Any solutions?
