  1. Yeah, the NI software hub makes it easy to stay up to date, so I do. It's Kontakt 7, the latest. Kontakt always has the odd glitch here and there. Since I restored from backup, it's been behaving itself. My iMac Pro with 64 gigs of RAM is only using about half the CPU power in Logic now. Sometimes with a lot of Kontakt and other VST instruments open it overloads the CPU. Which means I have to man up and make a decision about some tracks and bounce them! The bass track was there in the backed up version. I actually did not reinstall older Logic and try opening the borked file. Since it's all working now, I won't bother. Just random computer weirdness, i guess.
  2. It was a EZ Bass track. So an instrument track, but not MIDI. The instrument was gone. And no alert. I've been using computers forever and weird stuff happens. Logic, Final Cut, Premiere, and more since the '90s. I've been using 10.7.5 and that (restored from saved) project for a few days nonstop. There have been no more weird things like that. I did Disk First Aid on all my discs, and even checked for viruses (yeah, pretty unlikely). I also zapped the PRAM since it's an Intel Mac. If it goes bad again, I'll do a clean system install and restore files from backups.
  3. Thanks. I opened an older save from a backup and Reverted to an older save and it is OK in 10.7.5. So I'll keep using it for now and see if it behaves. I have previous version of Logic available just in case -- 10.7.4. I've updated my Mac and Logic for many years, and I've never seen anything this bad. I always wait to upgrade my OS until I'm about to be two major versions behind. That's why I upgraded now -- because Ventura is coming out. I may have to just wipe the drive and do a clean system install, then install programs/files from CCC.
  4. Uh, the bass track was there when I saved it. When I upgraded and opened it, it was gone. Plus all the other issues. Doubting my problem doesn't fix it. 10.7.4
  5. I upgraded my iMac Pro to Monterey from Big Sur and went up to Logic 10.7.5 and had the worst problems for an upgrade ever. 1. Completely deleted one track randomly. 2. Stripped all Presets chosen from 15 tracks, but not all. Kontakt, Nave, and other synths. Kontakt shows blank (as in no sounds selected) and synths went back to the Init patch. 3. Glitchy playback, which seems to have resolved itself. 4. Takes 3 minutes to open a modest project, whereas before it took < 1. 4. Saved a file and it shows up as zero kb in size in the finder. Nothing in it. I wish I had never upgraded.
  6. ALSO -- resetting everything solved some other random issues I was experiencing: - Logic kept scanning for 1 plugin every time I started it up. Even though there were no new plugins. - Every session was starting with the message "Audio interface used during last session is not available. Using Apollo Thunderbolt instead." But that WAS the last (and only) interface used! These issues are all gone now It's good to know that the prefs reset will clean out some random minor issues.
  7. Thanks for all your thoughts! We fixed it by resetting all the preferences. I turned off core audio and back on so it reset core audio. That fixed the problem!
  8. No matter how much RAM or how fast my computer, I would get crashes several times a day in Logic. Like many, I would command-S to save as I went. I would also stop and start with the spacebar and do other things VERY QUICKLY. Because I've been using Logic a long time. I recently started going more slowly -- I wait a few seconds after hitting the spacebar to stop before I command-S. I wait a moment after hitting the spacebar to stop before hitting it again to start. I wait a moment before opening plugins, deleting plugins, deleting tracks -- anything. Not long -- literally one or two seconds. IT has made all the difference. I was working too fast for the program. Because I haven't had a crash in days and I even have Logic open along with Chrome, which usually means crash-o-rama. So if you too work really fast, trying leaving a few seconds in between your actions. So far it's been great!
  9. Hey man, This is great but can you make one with stock Logic plugins so I can replace them with UAD ones? Pleeeeeease?
  10. I got the Komplete Collector's Edition -- the whole magilla. I love all the sounds, though, and find it useful. Don't regret buying it.
  11. Thanks for the link, but I tried those and they have no effect I try to be courteous and look in the manual before bothering people here
  12. I keep getting stuck notes, especially on Komplete Kontakt instruments -- acoustic guitar strumming, Massive X patches, etc. I hit STOP and it just keeps holding. The only way to stop it is to hit start again and stop quickly. Is there some secret setting in Logic that would fix this? It's getting pretty annoying and a search on this forum didn't turn up anything.
  13. The internet is full of hatred and ignorance...and then I find a thread like this where someone spends their time helping other musicians to make music and it gives me hope! Thanks so much for this. Now all the other kids on my block won't make fun of my for having kick drums that are out of tune!!!
  14. Thank you! This solved my issue, which appeared randomly during a session. THANKS!!!
