  1. If the regions are still in tact, then the only methods for deletion/moving are either out of the audio files folder, or in the media browser correct? I wasn't in finder or the media browser at all during the session. Really weird.
  2. Hello All, Peculiar issue I'm experiencing. I recently tracked some drums, ended up doing about 9 songs. While tracking I usually just use project alternatives to create the next song as a sort of template and keep moving quickly. Well, about the 7th alternative down the audio files are all missing. The regions are still there, but the actual audio files are missing from the audio files folder. It was not the last song recorded, and the regions still have comping data saved from when the song was tracked, So I'm not sure how this could have happened. Nothing was changed as far as drives or save location during the session. I'm going to check the trash can of the computer it was recorded on tomorrow and hopefully they somehow ended up there. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm guessing project alternatives may be to blame, but it's pretty strange.
  3. Don't get me wrong my dude, I am not squandering or question your guidance. Simply stating I don't understand the purpose of remove tempo information in my context, it is either null or redundant, hence the 'sort of'. No need to get upset. Thanks for the help!
  4. Sorry for delay, been busy and had other songs that didn't need this process. I followed exactly and got great results! I think the 'Remove Tempo' function may not have been affecting everything, or just left a tempo 'void' that was required when using flex. Unsure. To be honest, I feel like remove tempo and write project tempo are sort of redundant, but i'm not sure.
  5. Right on, is that why when randomly I enable flex it will show the audio as moved but not play back in time with whats in the timeline? I am almost positive that has to be a bug and not a feature.
  6. Thanks very much for the comprehensive reply! I am still sort of new to beat mapping, although i've been using flex for years. Smart tempo has been a little confusing to say the least as Logic does not do a great job of explaining how the tempo is embedded, This particular song is an extreme use case: Its technically 2 different songs, with several tempo changes and a section between them that is essentially just a long off-the-grid crescendo. The drummer was PRETTY good, but not perfect. The band was a mixed bag of kind of off performances that I needed to align. So here was my use case prior to my last post: Remove tempo information for all present recordings Group and phase lock all relevant tracks Beat map drums Flex respective instruments Despite that, I still had some weird placement issues like described in the video above, where the waveform view on the timeline was not representing what was actually playing back. Or where changing one flex marker would speed up or slow down entire regions (that were not in proximity to the flex edit I was making!) Again, this was with audio files that had their tempo removed, so as far as I understand it shouldnt be making such broad adjustments. Based on my video am I just using it wrong or am I experiencing something not intended?
  7. Heres a video describing some of the issues I face, hard to discern what is a feature vs. a bug, but I am having inconsistent issues such as this quite often. Pretty unworkable at this point. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9y8ecgsrxofvaj7/Help%21.mov?dl=0
  8. Howdy all, Using Logic 10.5 at the moment, just finished up tracking a record with a band. Context: The drummer recorded to a click, and did a great job of pushing/pulling the tempo to make it feel organic. I am attempting to beat map so I can edit the rest of the band to it. All the audio files were recorded in Logic. Idea was to beat map and enable flex and edit the rest of the band, however it hasn't been so simple! After beat mapping flex in general is finicky in weird. Sometimes creating markers for me, sometimes not. As a rule I'd like it to NOT do anything automatically for me. I was advised by some fellow Logic Pros to Remove embedded tempo data from recorded audio files, but this has hardly been a cure all for the entire multitrack session as I am still experiencing some finicky behavior were I quote honestly avoid turning on Flex at all as it instantly goofs up several takes or files. Is there a better workflow? Am I missing something? I really dont want to dump anything into Pro Tools to edit, only to re-enter into Logic. Thanks!
