Re: Cheapest machine that can run Logic Pro X in 2021

I think spending money on a 2020 intel MB Air is not investing in the future.
So if you can wait a little bit to save the money to get an M1 machine, I would definitely do it.

Re: Logic 7 to Logic X

Is it Logic 7 or 7.1?
If I remember correctly 7 was PPC and 7.1 became intel-ready. Or 7.2 maybe.

Re: Random popping sounds when recording, Focusrite+MacBook Pro

Could be a Logic version thing, why not?
Sometimes there's no logic to Logic's quirkiness, pun intended!
Just grab the 10.5.1 app, put it on a flash drive and drag it over to the new laptop.

Not sure how that compares to a MacBook Air with 16gb memory and 512gb SSD?

Ram and HD space is always worth it.

Thorough comparison between the M1 Air and Pro:

Adapters can be finicky. I would definitely try the Apple one.

Or try the hub I mentioned.

Re: Mastering, LUFS/True Peak

I would put the Adaptive Limiter Output at -0.3 to avoid intersample peaks going thru.
Gain the AL a little more to have your LUFS between -13 and -12. You should be fine.
I do this all the time with my clients and they like it.

Re: Random popping sounds when recording, Focusrite+MacBook Pro

Likely an issue with the USB connection. Can you try with an Apple USB-A to USB-C cable?
Or you can get a USB-C Dock like this:

What is "Drum takes"? Can you elaborate what you mean?

Re: Upgrading iMac

I'm looking at a late 2018 Mac Mini w/ 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 6-Core, 16GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM, 1 TB SSD. It's on sale for $1549 At this point you should consider the new Mac Mini M1, which is way more powerful than the 2018, and cheaper with the same specs: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/mac-m...

Just do a bounce in place of the region. Control-B on the keyboard.
And bypass all effects and automation, so it's just a digital copy.

Then you can delete the big original file.

Re: Sever Audio region from its 'parent' file.

And later you can also do:
File - Project Management - Clean Up.

This will send all unused files to the trash.

Go to the project files window, click Edit - Select Unused, Edit - Delete.

The new Air kills these models you mentioned. Almost twice as fast.

Ok, then I would just add a gain plugin on the bass track.

Re: Mono Tracks Not Panning Topic is solved

I would bypass all plugins on the bass and see where the signal sits because you have a big waveform.
And turn off automation as well.
Somebody is compressing the crap out of that bass.

Re: Tuner VU meter display gone

My question is: is it possible to still get older versions of Logic, in this case 10.5? The app store has been very picky since the 10.6 update. I think that ship has sailed. I run Mojave and on the app store no Logic updates available. I have 10.4.8 on my main machine and before 10.6, 10.5.1 was s...

Re: Minimum MacBook Pro specs to run Logic Pro X basics

How about MacBook Pro 15.4-inch (Mid-2012) - Core i7 - 8GB - HDD 750 GB ? The cool thing about these (I still have mine), is that you can replace the HD with an SSD, which I recommend, and add another 8 gigs of ram later. But it's the only computer around 500 bucks that can run Logic ok for basic s...

Re: AUTOMATING BUS/POPS AND CLICKS Topic is solved

What kind of automation are we talking about?
If you're using latency-inducing plugins that get turned on or off on the bus, those pops come from that if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Melodyne Essential worth the money?

I think Flex Pitch is great for basic pitch correction.
Melodyne is not worth it until you go into polyphonic correction.
