Re: Solo Safe turning on automatically

I think that you need a PC slave for what you want to do, or a more powerful Mac. But anyway, the Multiport will not increase your ability to do it.

Re: Solo Safe turning on automatically

I strongly suggest avoiding the Multiport template like the plague.

Re: .WAV or .AIFF? Topic is solved

I am an expert in Logic Pro as well but David is an expert in digital audio and computer science as well, and that is the difference.

Re: .WAV or .AIFF? Topic is solved

Could be but I swear there was a region factor. But getting old is not always pretty :)

EDIT: After doing some research, it seems like my confusion on this was due to some Pro Tools based engineers playing fast and loose with the term "region." :)

So, David is right, as usual.

Re: .WAV or .AIFF? Topic is solved

Yes, I know, a region just says ":look over there" I know that there was some difference though in what happens with regions and audio files brought into PT but I will have to research it to remember and anyway, it doesn't matter because wave files have become the standard pretty much. Log...

Re: .WAV or .AIFF? Topic is solved

Yes, a region is just a part of an audio file but my understanding is that if you cut a region from a.wav and bring it into e. g. Pro Tools and tell it to move it to its original position, it will go to the regions position while with the aiff it will go to the audio file's original position.

Re: .WAV or .AIFF? Topic is solved

Not sure if it is still true, maybe David knows, but it used to be that AIFF time stamps audio files but not regions while Wave time stamps both.

Re: Purchasing an iMac Pro vs an iMac Dilemma

I think to spend the kind of money that the iMac Pro costs when you are only doing it for pleasure is unwise, unless you are so wealthy the price difference between the pro and the regular iMac is just not a factor.

Re: EastWest Play 6? Topic is solved

Has anyone gotten EastWest Play 6 yet? Is it working out ok? I'm thinking about upgrading, in the hopes that it could resolve some issues. Of course, I'm going to back up the version I have now, in case it ends up being a disaster! I am using it here with the latest versions of High Sierra, Logic P...

I heard his brother knows a thing or two about playing guitar. :)

Indeed, but Alex has his head screwed on straight, not sure Eddie does yet.

Re: New iMac Pro or 2013 Mac Pro

VE Pro distributes the load on multi-timbral instances better than any DAW, including Logic. Period.

Re: New iMac Pro or 2013 Mac Pro

FWIW, a little trick I stumbled on recently to help me with single core overloads on the VI track I'm monitoring/recording -- that being as far as I'm concerned Logic's Achilles heel, and the implied subject of this topic (hoping for more powerful macs) -- is to spread the load with a Reaper64 sess...

The Robert Plant Channel Strip is terrific. I sound just like him when I sing through it.

OK, I have the 10.4. pre-release and the John Williams auto-orchestrate preset is awesome!

Characterize as you like. My point is I am not an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" guy. When I am reasonably sure it is safe to change, I update.

Re: Logic Pro 9 not working in macOS 10.13

There is a massive difference between going to a new OS weeks after it is released and you are assured that your important stuff is working and adopting betas on a work machine.
