Re: Export/Bounce Multiple Regions

Sadly, it is my humble opinion that Logic's features and more advanced functions updates are woefully neglected... There are literally hundreds (thousands) of deeply insightful requests that thousands of composers and audio guys have made in the last 4 years, and honestly, very little has happened. ...

Re: Routing Issue with new M Audio Venom Synth with Logic 9.

Doh...just saw the Edit Global Value strip above the keyboard...pushed one button and the MIDI ports work. Unfortunately, the choice is EITHER USB MIDI or physical MIDI ports. Done... Thanks for all the loving, emotional support... :-))) (I am truly glad this community exists though, without it, I'd...

Re: Routing Issue with new M Audio Venom Synth with Logic 9.

Yo yo...howdy y'all...how are you DK? I am glad to find that I'm not the only one with Venom issues... At the moment, I'm completely convinced that the physical MIDI ports in the back don't work. The USB port immediately controls Logic, all is good in that way. I cannot get my MIDI Timepiece to regi...

Re: EXS randomly changing instrument, not finding samples?

Hey Ski...actually, the warning arose just as I was opening the session. And any sort of playback was impeded by two separate 'lost sample' warnings (both ESX instruments that were NOT in the session at all)...very very weird. I re-imported the whole EXS instance and channel strip from a backup, del...

Re: Missing EXS samples: what pack is it in?

With a deeper look, what is actually happening is that Logic is randomly changing EXS's preset (in the one instance I have in this session), but is looking for presets and samples that have nothing to do with this session (or even the random presets that it is choosing on it's own). This is a true f...

EXS randomly changing instrument, not finding samples?

Did this ever get resolved? Turns out I just got a very strange (and first time) warning message: EXS24 Instrument "05 Full Strings Marcato Lite.exs" Audio File "Silence.wav" not found! Huh? I don't recognize either the sample instrument or the sample name itself. And, th...

Fantastic! And also, the 'simple' explanation is highly appreciated...bullet points always work for the busy-brained musician...

I always use POTF and almost never autopunch.

I've **never** had a problem punching in and out manually using the RECORD TOGGLE key command.

Aaaaah, Ski...that's the missing key command...! I've needed this one for a while - thanks!

Be sure to turn of "Punch on the fly" when you don't need it... otherwise it can cause some odd behavior.

Really? I've always had it on as a default...who knows, maybe all the odd behavior will go away...? Now if only my shrink could be so efficient...

Re: when recording 'on the fly' it cuts audio for a sec- why

Thanks for all the replies everyone...that helps a lot...yeah Rekloos: Punch on the Fly only...autopunch is absolutely NOT what you want [unless that's what you want :-))], because that is an automated, preset (and very precise) punch-in method...

Re: when recording 'on the fly' it cuts audio for a sec- why

I can only guess that Punch on the Fly must use more buffer or hold more of the session in RAM so that you can do just what you are asking: punch in whenever a vocalist wants to do a quick fix, and avoid that audio hiccup...when you have a minute to experiment, try messing with those two settings. B...

Re: when recording 'on the fly' it cuts audio for a sec- why

Indeed, I've not enjoyed that issue as well...try this: Have you selected 'Punch on the Fly'..? Go to Options > Audio > check Punch on the Fly also, experiment with Auto Input Monitoring (on and off) I've noticed that after a test punch or two, for some reason, the audio drop-out issue goes away...b...

What you're saying carries with it the implication that people who work in the music business are rats! So please, let's leave honesty out of the discussion and move on... Absolutely hilarious! I'm not saying that people are using a platform in light of future upgrades, I'm directly saying th...

Rev: yep, the yay-boo thing sure does happen a lot...I see it mostly in sports, politics and religion...(and I am NOT starting a debate about any of those topics)

It is mindless and ridiculous. And very self-limiting.

Oh...if (say) Avid DID go belly up, the first thing Apple would do is to make some OSX updates to render that software obsolete (might take a year)...drivers would need to be updated, hardware would stop working well...pushing those PT people more quickly into oblivion, and pulling them over to LS. ...
