Re: Duplicate audio track with regions *and* audio file(s)?

1. Option-drag the track header down in order to duplicate all regions along with the track. All regions on the new track are now selected.
2. Control-click one of the selected regions on the new track, and choose Convert > Convert to New Audio Files.

Re: Controlling multiple instances of expression with a MIDI controller

Ok...so far, after reading David's article and doing a bit more research online.....it seems to me that the "auto-demix by channel" is mainly or using different midi controllers, eg three different keyboards or the like. . No: Logic separates the incoming MIDI data based only on MIDI Chan...

So maybe it's possible to configure the mpk25 knobs to all send cc1, but on different midi channels ?

And if it isn't, it's fairly easy to set that up in the MIDI Environment.

Re: AUTO SAVE

My left thumb on the Command key, my left index finger on the S key, that's my natural position when producing music. I must do it every few minutes if not every few seconds. I also diligently save iterative versions of my progress every 20mn or so. Finally, a strict backup regimen on a removable di...

Re: Controlling multiple instances of expression with a MIDI controller

You can route Expression on different MIDI channels to different tracks in the Tracks area: https://www.logicprohelp.com/instruments-tracks-midi-channels/ To create tracks on different MIDI channels for the same instrument, use the New Track dialog and selecting the Multi Timbral option: multi-timbr...

Ok, great, so why can't you locate the transient? Is he, for example, at this point, just sliding from one vowel into another?

will I risk deleting files used in my other Project Alternatives as well? Yes, you do risk deleting files used in your other project alternatives. Also, are muted files in my session treated as "unused" files in the Project Browser that would also be deleted? No, muted files are not selec...

Re: Arifacts from moving Flex time Markers Topic is solved

Ok, but what I'm asking is, in musical terms (non-tech terms), what are you trying to achieve exactly? Is this a vocal that you're trying to time differently, a guitar slide....?

d'oh! yes, of course. thought i did that once and regions got shortened... or something.

They appear to be shortened visually, but audio always plays back the same way (unless you have turned Flex on for that track).

Can you describe what you're trying to do, musically? It's not a typical situation to want to create a flex marker were there isn't a transient.

Re: dBFS Audio Clipping ???

You can safely go up to 0 dBFS. You have to watch out for distortion that could be generated by other processes (too much limiting, too much compression, intersample peaks etc...) however keeping your mix below -1 dBFS, -3 dBFS, -6 dBFS or any arbitrary value other than 0 dBFS won't prevent you from...

Re: Missing Auto saved and revert to

Very sorry to hear about your issue Dr4k, these situations are utterly frustrating. :( Has anyone ever encountered this? In nearly 30 years of using Logic I've never once had a situation where I loaded a project and it didn't come back the way I saved it. Same here. I have seen my share of weird beh...

Re: Selection Based Processing Converting Mono to Stereo

That is: I could pull all plugs off a track, route it to a mono output, and get my stereo ass handed to me? How exactly are you normalizing? Are you bouncing? What menu, or key command exactly are you choosing, what settings? I tried to reproduce: here I have an audio track with a stereo audio regi...

Moving those transient markers first definitely makes all the difference. But it takes time.....:P I'm sure I'll get better and faster at it.

I agree that it's a time consuming task, but it does clean up your editing. Glad to hear it makes a difference. :)

Re: trim - bounce - handles

Ok, I understand, however my question is, what goal are YOU trying to accomplish when doing this in Logic? Have you experimented with the Optimize feature I suggested? It trims your audio files to the region boundaries, leaving 5 seconds (in my example screenshot) before and after the region boundar...

Re: Logic Pro X going Out of Tune

I will try this later today. But pitch bend is in semitones right? No, pitch bend data resolution depends on how the instrument/patch is programmed. Pitch bend is a 14 bit message that spans values from -8192 to +8191. That scale can be applied to any semitone range the instrument (and the patch) a...

Re: trim - bounce - handles

Not really. The idea is to BIP a Region which is part of a longer file, and the BIP contains the actual Region plus maybe 1sec at the start and at rhe end which can be revealed if I want to. Optimize keeps the region and trims the audio file leaving the desired number of miilseconds before and afte...

Re: How do I persuade Logic to auto-detect the bank names of banks other than zero?

Usually the hardest bit in all this is figuring out the bank change data format, particularly if it's something custom, and/or dealing with the inherent bank limitation of the multi-instrument object. When necessary I have created multiple multi-instruments for the additional banks for example when...
