Re: Third Party Time Stretching Algorithms?

Being an old-fashioned soul, I have certain workflows where I like to time stretch regions directly, rather than using Flex. Why, oh why? The Flex algorithms are SO much better and you can achieve the same workflow if you just press Command-F to enable Flex View, then drag the UPPER-right corner of...

I've just recently gone back to recording live guitar as opposed to software instruments. And I've run into a problem attempting to unmute part of a take region. Any ideas?

All you should have to do is click the grayed-out section?

Okay, maybe I can create several cells in live loops and program it for start recording next cell when previous is done? Is it possible?

I don't believe that's possible unfortunately. To do what you want you would need some kind of looper plug-in.

Re: My sound levels stopped showing.

It's called the Master Volume Slider.

In the Inspector, do you see level on your Stereo Out channel strip (on the right)?

Unfortunately that's not possible in Logic.

How is the external drive formatted? All disks used with Logic Pro should be formatted APFS or MacOS Extended.

Re: M1 pro 16GB RAM

I think it will be great. RAM is highly optimized on these new M1 machines so that should be enough unless you use large sample libraries, which it doesn't sound like you are.

Re: A small cable question to record my trio.... Topic is solved

I can't. The few things I said in the first post made his eyes glaze over already. :D My concept of this forum is that while you seem to answer one single person's question, really you'll be helping many, many more people who will now or in the future end up finding this thread as a result of their...

Re: Split MIDI Keyboard for two different software instruments Topic is solved

Yes, you can put more than 2 instruments if that's the goal. This allows you to layer instruments at will. You could layer 3 instruments on one section of your keyboard, only 1 in another section, that overlaps with another in its upper section, etc... it's highly flexible.

Re: Split MIDI Keyboard for two different software instruments Topic is solved

0k. I have tried that and had also to Transpose the second Instrument to -32 to put it on the top keys. So I now have a normal Piano from C2 to key B4 then a trumpet from C5 to G8. They are now easy to control in the Summing Stack as suggested. Did I go about this correctly? Sounds like it, especia...

I need to do any splitting in Logic. My keyboard has no ability to be split on its own. So David, do I define these under Key Limit in the Track Inspector?

Yes!

Re: Split MIDI Keyboard for two different software instruments Topic is solved

It depends on the keyboard, or how you want to tackle it. An easy way is to leave the keyboard alone, and in Logic, adjust the Key Range parameters in both tracks' inspectors. Then you have to R-enable both trakcs, or better: pack them in a summing stack and R-enable the summing stack.

By the way one thing you can do is click the "hamburger menu" (the three horizontal lines symbol) at the top left of the forum pages and choose "Your Posts" to see all your posts and quickly find something you just posted. :)
