Re: Logic making notes stick on my external MIDI device whenever I click on an audio track

FYI I just fixed this by ticking Logic Pro X > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces. It doesn't bypass the USB keyboard but I won't question its methods. A USB keyboard is not a control surface, so it makes sense that it wouldn't be bypassed. A USB keyboard simply sends MIDI events to Log...

That works fine for my purposes. I would like to be able to draw the pc automation the same way as cc but it is no biggie that i can’t.

Oh you can! Select your region and choose View > MIDI Draw > Program Change.

Re: Moving plug-ins io external drive

No: all plug-ins belong in your Components folder which is on your system drive (the one where you have OS X installed).

Yes. Don't move them.

Yeah, its not velocity sensitive

Actually it is, and velocity is a typical issue when trying to assign MIDI Note On events to controller assignments.

Can you take a screenshot of your pad's MIDI Input in the controller assignment window?

It's a pad so that shouldn't be a problem.

It doesn't matter what physical shape the controller has. MIDI Notes have a velocity. Unless your pad are not velocity sensitive?

Re: Controller mapping (how to assign note msg to a toggle?)

Make sure you remove the velocity data from your Note event. Otherwise you'd have to play that note with the exact same velocity for it to trigger the command.

You can then create as many additional summing stacks inside the top layer, but it seems you can only have 2 layers deep.

That's a great workaround! Thanks! Wondering why Logic's interface won't allow you to do this now if it's actually possible to do it in the Environment.

Re: Logic Controller Question

Yes, you can do that by learning different assignments in different Modes in the Controller Assignment window, and switches that allow you to switch modes (Class = Mode Change).

Re: Mute & solo duplicate tracks independently

It's really the same feature but with a different interface. CPU Saving muting is the same thing as turning a track off.

Only Logic doesn't have an interface equivalent to the CPU Saving soloing. But if you use Solo mode it will behave the same.

Re: Mute & solo duplicate tracks independently

The alternative in Logic Pro X is to use the Tracks On/Off buttons. You can press Option-T to open the Track Header Configuration pop-up and choose the On/Off button (the first checkbox at the top). For soloing you may find it easier to select the track (along with all the regions on that track) and...

Re: Automating midi program changes in the tracks (arrange) window. Topic is solved

Position the playhead where you want to record the program change. Press pause, then press record – the playhead won't move. In the Track inspector, choose the desired program change. Press stop and the program change will be recorded at the playhead position.

Re: Regions names getting messed up when exporting midi file

Hi David, not sure what you're asking. You mean the physical length of the midi region not being long enough to hold x amount of text characters? No. There are no "MIDI Regions" in a MIDI File. MIDI Regions are a construct of the Logic project file. They don't exist outside of Logic. When...

Isn't that simply a limit on the length of the MIDI file?
