Re: Undo History resets upon closing of project

I also wound up catching instances of cheating and the like. Hahaha!! Funny. I too have received projects, not from students but from clients, and have had fun reverse engineering them. Sometimes not so much with the undo history, but just trying to see from what original audio recording each audio...

Re: Turning Metronome on/off on the fly while recording

Click the Metronome button (or press K) to toggle the click on/off. You can do it on the fly, during recording.

Re: AUTOMATION: copy / paste region automation???

Hi, So it's still not working, even with the sends identical. I notice in your example you use two identical software instruments. I am using two different ones (cellos and basses). It refuses to copy automation only but will copy the entire region. Are you in the same situation exactly as I am on ...

Yes, you got it. And yes, I agree that it would be a very nice new feature to add, I'm thinking about it. ;)

Re: Internal output limiter?

You know, workflow is such a personal thing, and we're all different, our brains don't have the same shape, we don't think alike. That's fine. If that suits your workflow, why not. I would personally never work like this, but that's just me. On my car, there's a speed limiter. I can set it to 90km/h...

Re: MIDI notes recorded « in double » Topic is solved

Great! Good to hear we got to the bottom of it. :)

I can't think of an easy way to get rid of the doubled notes. One way that would work at least if you don't have tons of them, is to open the Piano Roll, click a note, Shift-click more notes, then press Delete.

Re: Internal output limiter?

Ok so adding a limiter to my template is a good thing, right? Better safe than sorry. I don't think it's a good thing, because it changes the dynamic of the signal you're mixing and could end up allowing bad practices. Better learn to be careful without a limiter and have a transparent signal flow....

Re: Internal output limiter?

What I mean is that, no matter how loud Logic is (0 or above it) the D/A converters always receive the same which is 0dBFS. Correct? Ok let's be precise: the digital signal is made of many samples, and in order to make a waveform, the samples all have different values. The maximum value of any sing...

Re: How to record Modulator as track automation?

Oh yes ok I get it. Unfortunately, you can't record the output of the Modulator as automation. As a workaround you could use a trick such as inserting a compressor on a software instrument channel strip (where you insert your Modulator), and route the bounced audio to the sidechain input of the comp...

Re: Internal output limiter?

So you’re saying that no matter how loud the Stereo Output is (even when is showing that’s peaking at +12dB, the level going to the speakers is always 0dBFS? Not exactly. I'm saying that no matter the level shown at the output of the Stereo Output channel strip, by definition, in digital, the maxim...

Re: Internal output limiter?

No, there's no such built-in limiter. The highest level any digital software can output is 0 dBFS, and the shape of the waveform can be anything you want. I don't add a limiter to the output, I just mix at moderate levels. If you're suffering from the white noise blast from hell issue, here's a rela...

I want to bounce that as audio, but when I do that, the modulator is gone and so I lose that EQ's modulation.

Have you tried bouncing the instrument in real time?
