Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/production-expert-1/macbook-pro-m1-audio-power-test-logic-pro For me, the most astonishing takeaway with all these is that all too apparently, any thermal issues are *completely* gone. Sure, you could expect better thermal behaviour from a CPU developed along with f...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

Not sure whether I should rather create a new thread, but as it has been mentioned here, I think it's ok to supply you folks with a brief update. The guy at GS was running my little singlethread test project. I used Space Designers (they're doing a nice job for such things) and serial bussing (detai...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

It doesn't surprise me at all if LogicPro shows 4 cores...because that's all that matters in the LogicPro cpu meter. This has already been settled. Logic shows all 8 cores and they're all working, too. You need to set your processing threads accordingly in Logics audio preferences. Fwiw, the MB Air...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

Automatic apparently only uses high performance cores. Which might even make sense in some situations, such as having other, less hungry apps running parallely while not needing all the juice for Logic. Still would love to see a singlethread test. I'm already preparing one (started with Alchemy but...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

Ok. So why do you think that is? At first I had no idea and suspected something to be wrong with Logic - but now I need to officially apologize (<-!) because quite obviously it's been user error (not mine, though...). I didn't think it was, because I even told folks to check for "Performance T...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

So, if like me, you’re not a computer specialist(and I mean really specialist) I would wait a bit before spitting on Logic about those Reports as there’s a lot of things people don’t know about M1 and all that new stuff. You don't need to be a computer specialist to see there's 4 CPUs idling while ...

Apple/Logic team have it running on ARM natively, that's where M1 and Logic should be judged

Precisely! And that's exactly what's happening: There's only 4 CPUs used by Logic on an M1 machine, obviously with Logic running natively.

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

Fwiw, the first Logic benchmark test using an M1 machine (MB Air, it's on Gearslutz) seems to indicate only 4 CPUs are used. ProTools however supports all 8 CPUs - even if it's only running in Rosetta 2 mode. I think that's quite embarassing, given that the Logic programmers should've had plenty of ...

Maybe they also thought about iPad control when designing these new save (or whatever) dialog boxes?

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

as always, there are some issues, and apple will have to fix it. not the first time this sort-of thing has happened. Yeah, likely. And admittedly, it's pretty dumb not doing a backup before doing a substantial system update, especially given this is as easy as it gets with macOS. So, I'm not defend...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

But there is a huge moral difference between intentional and unintentional. Very true. Just that I do not even for a split second believe that the No.1 company on the stock market even remotely gives a damn about morals. Not one of the, say, top 100 companies does. Oh wow - hold on, does that mean ...

Re: Logic Pro 10.6 is out

Well, Big Sur apparently bricks quite some machines, even if Apple says they're supported. https://www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/ju0miw/macbook_pro_died_after_big_sur_update/ https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252033190 It's completely irrelevant that this isn't intentional. It's bad quality assur...

Yes.
This is the danish version download page (you're danish, right? I seem to remember something...), possibly with german framework around:

Re: Logic Pro (not X) 10.6 is out

Uhm, and I really wanted to stop this... but ok. I'll try to keep it as civil as it gets, I promise. Sascha, getting real for a moment. How much harder would it be to move your mouse slightly lower in that example so that both regions DO zoom in to view? Presuming what Fuzzfilth posted is correct. S...

Re: Logic Pro (not X) 10.6 is out

my apologies. you're not mistaken. but you seem to be the only one who works this way, so... it's not a problem for others, and there are other ways of working. This isn't what it's all about. It's about broken things that never get fixed. Doesn't matter whether it's the zoom issue or PDC not worki...

Re: Logic Pro (not X) 10.6 is out

That's the whole issue, and I too would guess one could get used to it in seven years. Well, I was thinking that as well. But up to this day I find myself accidentally zooming in wrong portions. I'll give you an example: Zoom *way* in horizontally already. So that two regions on adjacent tracks are...

Re: Logic Pro (not X) 10.6 is out

i have NEVER accused you of lying. these are not universal issues, but rather, issues you're having (i just tried zoom for the first time ever, & it worked fine). it's important to know the difference between a universal issue (that everyone, or most people, are experiencing), and one that you'...
