Just checked my setup in 10.4.8, it's the same as yours BUT when I built it I had not closed and reopened to a new logic project. I rebooted and started logic again and after the reboot it now behaves correctly. Thanks for further precision. :) Maybe the discrepancy was caused by logic's delay compe...
Actually, that is what I was clumsily trying to point out. When I tried the Linear Phase EQ in 10.4.8 your setup didn't work until I added sample delay plugin. This shows that Delay Compensation is improved in 10.5.1 where your setup works great.
To add more minutia to this topic. I was noticing that David's elegant setup only worked if I added a sample delay of 2545 samples after the gain plugin. This was using my old laptop that is stuck on Logic 10.4.8. Just now I went on my newer studio mac and find that David's setup in Logic 10.5.1 wor...
Thanks for posting that David! I was just about to type up a very similar approach using a single bus. To make the cancellation work properly (with the single bus approach using a normal Channel EQ) I found I needed to have the EQ's 'Oversampling' turned on. Worked great!
Is there a problem with just turning down Retro Synth's Amp volume?
I'm curious, are playing chords? Also, in Retro Synth's SETTINGS page is the 'Voice Stacking' parameter cranked up to 8? More oscillators = more volume.
Your FX plugin chain is probably adding extra gain. It looks like a good place to lower the output level without changing your chain's sound is to turn down the Compressor's 'Output Gain' knob.
It seems like the problem occurs when the sample rate is 48 kHz and buffer size is >= 256 samples. I lowered my buffer size to 128 and it worked. Can others confirm if this is the case for you? Thanks @teerathm. Bug confirmed here on both my laptop and iMac systems! Noticed your time signature was ...
Agreed, aftertouch is often way too touchy to be usable. I too would like a way to slow down (slew) aftertouch messages... Preferably with separate Attack and Release time controls.
When I read your suggestion my first thought was: great idea!... Thank you for the thoughtful reply David. It was a bit TLDR though so I didn't really read the rest of it. Just kidding :) You bring up many insightful observations and I agree totally. I was thinking of just coloring the region (or #...
It would be great if when it displays a region (or regions) selected, it took on the color of the selected region (or the first region). Just like the text and background colors of the region header. I could use the visual assistance of a splash of color over there when it switches away from default...
Thanks for testing my half baked theory, I'm glad you can download 17GIG in less than 3 hours. Did it mess up the ability of both computers to share the same external Library?
Good point madk0w, same behavior here. I just checked on my laptop that had only downloaded the "Essential sound and instruments". In the Library Manager it still shows that only that portion is installed. Yet the entire content is working on this laptop. This laptop possibly never stored ...
