also, seems to be the same 'grand piano' for garageband and logic (altho i'd have named it 'not-so grand but definitely-noticeable in a mix' piano) 8-)

Re: the not-great, brittle... but needed 'grand piano' Topic is solved

Is it the one under Legacy/Garageband/Pianos and Keyboards (the first one) And then Grand Piano? Drew thanks, that's it, but it's not there (i checked the garageband files). will see if i can redownload in logic (am trying to NOT download tons of stuff i don't want; i only want that piano). stratqu...

[RESOLVED] the not-great, brittle... but needed 'grand piano' Topic is solved

i've used the default 'grand piano' (which might be a garageband sound?) numerous times; it's not great (i use pianoteq mostly), but it's useful for some things... it cuts through a mix like a cheap knife. and it's missing. i don't see it under pianos (just the 'steinway'). anyone know where to find...

Re: How to export with buses separate for mixing technician?

i have collabs send me tracks without any effects (including eq, compression, reverb); but if they really believe in an effect, they send a second copy of that track with the effect they like; mostly, i'll use that for reference, but sometimes... it works as is (sometimes). it's really messy to, for...

Re: Please help, Logic will not play the correct note. Topic is solved

Thanks so much! A bit confused though, why would they tune this differently? who knows? i've found with a few 3rd-party plugins, that an occasional preset is in another key. possibly, some quality of the sound that works best retuned. possibly an error (or insanity) on the programmer's part. either...

Re: Please help, Logic will not play the correct note. Topic is solved

How strange. It only seems to be the “Blue Strand” preset in Alchemy. I can’t see anything in the settings that is transposing the notes. All other presets seem normal. not near my music mac, but... would suggest that the preset is tuned differently ; more likely that, than the 'keyboard' transposi...

What is your setup?

My set up is OS 10.15.7, Logic 10.6.2, MacPro 2013 with 64Gb ram. All my drives are SS connected via thunderbolt
Its since I went up to Catalina and upgraded Logic that the probs started.

an nvram reset, and/or an smc reset didn't help?

Re: Logic REALLY sluggish

is logic checked under system preferences>security & privacy>privacy>microphone? it should be. and am assuming you've rebooted?

you can also try resetting the nvram, the smc (google for instructions).

make sure the microphone is checked for logic in system preferences>security & privacy>privacy. and/or try resetting the SMC (google instructions for your specific mac).

Re: System Overload again?

reboot. make sure no apps are set to launch on a restart/power up. then open that project, see how things go. this worked for me regularly on my previous setup; worth a try. you're flushing the ram (by rebooting), and, by opening only logic, not sharing that memory with any other apps. check activit...

Re: Projects vs Folders???

i live & die by packages, have for a long time. i find it easiest in terms of organization, and, in the rare occasion i need an audio file from a song, i can copy it from the package contents. but really, either way works. if you save to a folder, zip the folder before uploading, keeps things si...

Re: 'Boring' Logic Wish List!

seriously, you could create a simple template , that's a very-basic starting point, with your panning set-up as you want; ie ONE track with that option. then just duplicate the track as needed; otherwise no more 'predefinied' than any other starting point in logic. my point is... you can do this ri...

user template; i have several elaborate ones, with effects per track (fabfilter eq & comp, off, by default), my main synths, etc, track stacks, etc etc. etc. start with a 'virgin' template; create the tracks, settings, etc that you want. then save as template . it's now there as an option always...
