Re: What is the best way to backup my Mac?

You don't have to. TM is managing everything in the background, doing hourly backups for current stuff, daily backups of older stuff and weekly backups of yet older stuff, without piling up the same file versions over and over. It's a very clever way to give better access to recent files in situatio...

Re: What is the best way to backup my Mac?

Time Machine is an app that's already on your computer. Get a 4TB or 8TB external drive, format it to Mac APFS, name it Backup, activate Time Machine, point it to Backup and you're set.

Re: Unwanted messages when deleting audio

You can't disable the first message, and for good reason. For every one user who wants to disable this, there will be 100 users who will scream blue murder because they accidentally hit Delete right after the perfect take or who just wanted the take gone from the Main window, but not from their live...

Re: Fading from infinity to zero during mastering

If there is 'something' at the top or at the end which belongs to the song, you leave it there and don't tamper with it during so-called mastering. He is butchering the reverb tail at the end of the song so I don't have any confidence in him doing the proper things at the top, whatever it is that we...

Re: Installing Multiple Releases of LPX on The Same Machine

The original remains unchanged by the ZIPing process, with the resulting ZIP file right next to it. So you'll have both the original and the ZIP file.

In case the App Store messes with that original, you can unZIP the archive and thus end up again with the original and its ZIP file.

Re: Logic Pro v10.6.3 MIDI Record & App Quits

Two reasons: 1. My MacPro from 2010 would top out with Catalina and I need identical OS- and Logic versions on all three machines for seamless project transfer between live and studio. 2. Catalina ends support of 32bit software which I'm not willing to let go. That's why I'll stay on Mojave at least...

Absolutely not. Is the Master Fader at unity ?

Re: Quality loss after bouncing stems multiple times?

In fact I was worried you might experience this. Did you welcome the cows, asked how their night was, checked if they needed anything, offered a drink perhaps ? If you missed any of these opportunities, then I'm afraid you can no longer bounce tracks.

Re: New user – audio playback running at twice speed when creating new project? Topic is solved

There were a couple Logic versions which had this bug until they fixed it.

Until you update, convert mp3 to WAV outside Logic, then import the WAV.

Re: Logic Pro v10.6.3 MIDI Record & App Quits

duplicated all your steps, and got it working exactly as you described it. That's great, well done. Still trying to figure out how the transformers work. Look closely at the pictures of the opened Transformers. The upper area sets the Conditions on which notes are affected or not. Here, they have t...

Re: Quality loss after bouncing stems multiple times?

Consider this: In the olden days, many recordings to tape had been bounced between tracks, often several generations deep, with the recording to the master tape being even one more generation. A skilled engineer could pull this off in a way that literally no one would question the quality of the fin...

Re: What to do with two drum mono audio files?

Yes.

If presented with a dual mono recording (actually this here is a mono + accidentally-recorded-to-only-one-channel-of-a-stereo-track), I'd put both on mono tracks, pans hard left and right, select both Regions and hit Merge. Saves routing to a Bus.

Re: What to do with two drum mono audio files?

Actually actually, I'd just set one recording track to stereo and record one stereo source to one stereo track. There is little point in recording to two tracks, as you'd have to do all the edits on two tracks and all plugins would have to be duplicated too, let alone trying to adjust any plugin par...

Re: Logic Pro v10.6.3 MIDI Record & App Quits

I would ask you to exactly replicate the screen shots I made for you, down to the positions of elements. Only once you got that working should you start changing it up, if necessary. You have seen how Transformer 1 collects channels 4,5 and 6 and changes them to 4, so you can easily modify that to c...

Re: Duplicate Logic Stereo Sum to additional Output 3-4?? Topic is solved

Put an IO-plugin after the last plugin of your Stereo Out. Set it to 'Out 3-4' and its Dry/Wet control to 0%. Done. You can disable that by bypassing the plugin.

Re: Logic Pro v10.6.3 MIDI Record & App Quits

Now if you click one Rec button, all five will get red. Playing on the different strings will play on tracks 1, 2, 3, strings 4, 5 and 6 will play on track 4 and all strings will also play on track 5. The sounds you hear will be all the same, you can change that later on. MR1.gif If you hit Record, ...

Re: Logic Pro v10.6.3 MIDI Record & App Quits

Dude, relax. Take a deep breath. I may be wrong, but I understand you want MIDI channels 1, 2 and 3 on separate tracks/instruments and MIDI channels 4,5 and 6 on one track/instrument, plus 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 on yet another track/instrument, right ? You do this in the Environment, and it's not too compl...

Re: How to add more layers on top of sounds inside same sampler

You need to create as many Groups as you have samples. Silly, I know, because Sampler's predecessor, the EXS24, didn't have this stupid limitation. You could layer as many Zones as you wanted in the same Group just fine. In Sampler, you will only get this by layering Groups.

Re: Batch Exporting Multiple Logic Projects to Windows Topic is solved

There is no way to automate that, quite simply because a) if you think of it, no DAW manufacturer would possibly want to make it easy to leave their DAW, b) software instruments don't easily translate between DAWs and/or OSs and c) it's quite complex in itself. You may have audio tracks, in Take Fol...
