Re: Website selling Logic Pro X 10.5.1. for $79 WARNING

True enough, but what was awesome about this, iirc, is that Gerhardt somehow did it deliberately. I'm not a programmer, but maybe another user "of a certain age" can confirm this for me . . . Being of a "Certain Age", I can confirm this. I clearly recall people coming onto LUG (...

Re: How to uninstall Logic Pro X

There's a free app called AppCleaner that *might* work.
I know it will trash prefs files and lots of other related files - not sure if it will remove all the audio/loops etc.

Re: Plugin thumbnail feature?

The hack was to put floating windows behind others, and then use Exposé to find them and bring them to the front again. It worked system-wide, so you could, for example, open a Help window and keep it open and move it to the back without the Help window disturbing your workflow.

Re: Plugin thumbnail feature?

I remember years ago that there was a Terminal hack to turn Logic's floating windows into regular windows, so that you could bring the main window in front of everything else. That hack stopped working in El Capitan.

Maybe there's a similar new hack floating around the internet. Ask Dr Google....?

Is that realy the name of the next Mac OS?

Big Sur is a place in California - very beautiful scenery indeed. I guess that even past OS10.x that Apple is staying with place names.

Re: new Mac Pro and Logic

The cheese grater and Trashcan are still my preferred option at this time. My wife has a Trashcan Mac and had SERIOUS problems with it. The RAM stopped being recognized and it turned out that the RAM slots were faulty. The further problem is that the RAM slots are part of the main motherboard, so t...

Re: Which Mac should I buy?

Another thing to confuse you...
It's possible that Apple will announce some new hardware on WWDC soon. (Rumours talk about a new iMac Pro)
Might be an idea to wait a little.

Re: Which Mac should I buy?

To FelixWeb: I was in a similar position, using an old 2008 Mac Pro that had no easy upgrade path. Anyway, I wanted more speed and power. I bought a 2018 Mac Mini with nice specs and I'm really delighted with it. Check if you can configure one to your needs (RAM, SSD size etc) - maybe that's the eff...

Re: Spectrasonics VIs won't load when using Multi out versions

Before you delete anything:
Do you have a backup of Logic 10.4.x? Maybe in Time Machine?
If so, first restart your Mac, then launch 10.4.x - that seemed to fix things for me.

Re: Spectrasonics VIs won't load when using Multi out versions

I checked all the Spectrasonics instruments in Logic 10.5 and I only get these options:
Stereo
Multi-Output (8xStereo)

Re: Spectrasonics VIs won't load when using Multi out versions

I just downloaded the newest updates for all Spectrasonics plugins (today) and multi-out versions and automation are working here in old projects in Logic 10.5 (in Mojave).

Thanks. Does MIDI work in Parallels? Also, were you running MacOS in Parallels? Which OS?

Just curious...which VM are you using? I once tried VMWare to get SoundDiver running but it wouldn't pass MIDI data through.

Re: Logic Pro X - What's new in 10.5

Now if only Apple can give us a mixer that is freely organisable, independent of the Tracks view!! You already have a freely organisable mixer - the Environment. In the Environment window, you can drag channels/faders/objects to anywhere you like. I've been using that for many years. You can group ...

I have a Bluesharp here: Factory -> Legacy Instruments -> Horns & Woodwinds -> Bluesharp (the file is dated 2010) Check in Sound Library Manager - have you downloaded all Legacy stuff? I wouldn't worry about data privacy on Boldersounds. They are a reputable company and have several free instrum...

Re: 10.5 Update issue old projects with Multi Timbral Outputs do not work

There is a problem with Omnisphere in Logic 10.5 (automation and multi-instrument).
Spectrasonics are aware of this and they are working on an update.

In the meantime, your best bet is to go back to using Logic 10.4.x until 3rd party manufacturers release updates.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.5 Plugins EMPTY Gui

For the record, I had the same blank GUI problem a while ago with Logic 10.4.8
I did a DiskWarrior check and also ran Disk Utility First Aid, and the problem went away. I have no idea what caused it.
