Re: Plugging headphones in causes logic to re-initialize audio

Get a simple audio interface (they make really good portable ones now too). Plugging headphones into that will work as it should. Thanks. I have one, but don’t bring it with me all the time due to luggage limitations on certain trips. It’s just very annoying that it’s necessary to avoid this issue ...

Re: Plugging headphones in causes logic to re-initialize audio

I agree it is annoying. It was not like this before. Maybe on later models Apple is using separate drivers for speakers and headphones so Logic re initialize when you change between the two. Overall this re initialize thing should end already. Hi!, Thanks for your reply. So it’s not just me. This i...

Plugging headphones in causes logic to re-initialize audio

Hello everyone. I used to have a 2012 MacBook Pro and if I was using system audio I could plug-in and un-plug headphones at any time and it would have no affect within logic correction within logic. I now have a 2018 MacBook Pro and if I plug-in or un-plug the headphones, logic reinitialises audio e...

Move apple loops from external drive back to internal drive Topic is solved

Hi everyone. I had my apple loops on an external HD with an alias in this location /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple pointing to the actual loops on the external HD. I thought I could simply delete the alias and copy the loops back to their original location on my internal Macintosh HD and all would ...

Re: Recording mod wheel and controller knob data simultaneously

Thank you both for your replies. I think I got myself nicely confused with this yesterday. I will o with the region based option as you both suggested, as it seems more straightforward in this case.

Thanks again :D

Recording mod wheel and controller knob data simultaneously

Hi everyone. I'm wondering if I'm approaching this in the correct/most efficient way? I'd like to record mod wheel and controller knob data for a virtual instrument (Native Instruments FM8) simultaneously. In this case, the knob on my controller is set to switch on an effect in FM8 and the mod wheel...

About damn time! So far so good here. Let's hope they didn't create any other issues while fixing this one!

Well done to all of us for hounding them with bug reports to highlight the issue.

Re: Smart controls undo/redo?

Something seriously weird going on here: 1. I opened the project this morning. I unchecked mixer undo/redo in the undo history. I moved one of the smart control parameters and used my key command for Edit>Mixer Undo. The screen flashed and I got a notification saying 'no fader undo available'. I mov...

Re: Smart controls undo/redo?

Open the Mixer and select Edit > Include Mixer Undo Steps in Project Undo History. Now try again. Hi David and thanks for such a swift reply. I have those options already turned on, which is why I was so puzzled when my move(s) wouldn't undo. In the end I had to revert to a backup :? I just opened ...

Smart controls undo/redo?

Hi everyone.

I might be missing something, but is it not possible to undo/redo smart controls moves?

Thanks.

It doesn't matter. A spinning drive never reaches the USB 3 maximum, let alone a 5400 rpm one.
Logic loads everything into Ram on project opening, but any subsequent streaming from disk needs to be quick enough.

Understood. Maybe I'll get an SSD. Thanks.

Re: Audio disrupted when scrolling through or selecting tracks

It's actually a 5400 spinning Ahh, that might be your problem. That speed is great for backup, but not real-time playback. Even at USB 3 speeds? Prior to the Samsung drive, I had a Lacie 5400rpm connected via FW800. It was a superb drive. The only reason I upgraded was that the Lacie was full. Mayb...

Re: Audio disrupted when scrolling through or selecting tracks

The problem happens intermittently and sometimes not at all. I couldn't find the exact pref you mentioned, but included a screenshot with 'Input monitoring only for the focused track...' is deselected. Is that the one you mean? Yup, that's the one I mean. So if this behavior is pretty random, that'...

Audio disrupted when scrolling through or selecting tracks

Hi everyone. I'm having an issue with 10.6.2 that I've never had before. With a project playing and no tax on the cpu, ram or ssd: when I scroll through tracks using the up and down arrow keys or select individual tracks with the mouse, the audio playback is disrupted for a fraction of a second each...
