Re: Logic doesn't support MIDI output from plug-ins.

Oh I didn't realise there was MIDI FX. I usually use this technique for outputting RTA info as MIDI, so it needs to be in the audio signal path. Bidule is much better for this anyway; I only tried to give it a shot in Reaktor because the poster above was using it.

Re: Logic doesn't support MIDI output from plug-ins.

Oh, you can load R6 in place of R5, and then load the .ens file (in the project folder)

Re: Logic doesn't support MIDI output from plug-ins.

It works in R6, and you can change the channel number of the fader input depending on which slot the plugin of interest is. 2=instrument slot, 3 and up=inserts. Never had issues with timing though.

Re: Logic doesn't support MIDI output from plug-ins.

you cannot generate midi in a plugin and get it out to the environment directly. You can. Kind of. If it's continuous controller type data, you can sneak it out as automation/fader without too much trouble. Notes would be a little harder to encode/decode. Here is an example with a Reaktor LFO contr...

See! That's why you should never update! It actually breaks your computer! /s

Good luck with the repair!

Re: Studio Over Internet?

For MIDI, the RTPMIDI/AppleMIDI works pretty well (in Audio MIDI Setup) The only pain is that sessions don't automatically recover/reconnect, but I guess you can get aroudn that with some AppleScript. Dante is great. It's one of the handful of Ethernet-based protocols used in live sound and broadcas...

Re: Studio Over Internet?

On a technical level it's not really the best solution for transporting audio anyway - you'd be much better off buying a couple of Dante licenses if you want it to "just work" On a local network with plenty of bandwidth though, it works pretty well. What would be really nice is something t...

Re: Studio Over Internet?

I'm assuming that 0.95 is a version just from the look of it, and the fact that it gets sent at the beginning of proceedings. I was wrong on my previous post about what constitutes a "connected" status in aunetsend - the relationship between the data and the status is: Listening - waiting ...

Re: Studio Over Internet?

Good luck with the experiments! Maybe that is a "Sierra thing". Some additional info - once aunetsend is listening, you can check the protocol version on the local machine by doing
nc localhost 52800
in Terminal.

Re: Studio Over Internet?

No worries! When aunetreceive connects, aunetsend returns a version number. This is a different version number from what you see in the plugin manager in Logic - I'm guessing this is the protocol version rather than the plugin version. I'm guessing that aunetreceive will only accept audio aunetsend ...

Re: Studio Over Internet?

I'm using a MBP mid 2015 and a 3900X based hackintosh. Both on 10.14.6 with Logic 10.5.0. The plugin version is 1.6.0 on both. Procedure: Open empty project on MBP. Create a software instrument channel with Test Oscillator instrument. Insert AUNetSend plugin using all default settings. Click "C...

Re: Two simultaneous inputs - one compresses the other

Ya got me. If there are no plugins doing the ducking, my only other thought is that audio is going back to your interface and causing some ducking. Seems kind of far-fetched though. With no plugins and routing straight to the output, Logic shouldn't be able to affect the relative levels of its chann...

Re: Audio stops after sleep/wake

Nope, it's not a core audio problem or a connected interface problem. I made another user account, and sleep/wake works just fine with that. I'm using the built-in output for an interface. I can't see any options for App Nap, but I think it's only relevant when the computer is awake. I've used Logic...

Audio stops after sleep/wake

Hi all. After a sleep/wake, I have blank meters and no output. Audio from browser/VLC etc still works. I have to switch to another audio device and back again to get it working. I am using built-in output with nothing else connected to the computer. I trashed preferences, and there is nothing obviou...

Re: Logic & Lemur (BiDirectional...) ?

Ah, OK. I signed up (with the demo) and got it working. It looks like you can monitor the addresses /logic/track/id, /logic/track/name and /logic/track/instrument/name (amongst others) to get info about the currently selected track. Not bad! You might need some app sitting between the OSCulator plug...

Re: Logic & Lemur (BiDirectional...) ?

I found reference to the OSCulator plugin but the link was broken. It doesn't seem to be part of the download either. Do you have the .bundle file? For your application, you might be able to fake a control surface with only one channel (Faderport?). Generally Logic will report the selected channel n...

Re: Logic & Lemur (BiDirectional...) ?

Yes, you're probably right. I remember trying to get a Presonus Faderport working properly using these .bundle plugins. It was a nightmare and I gave up eventually. l guess even with the support of Apple, it's difficult to get it right! I did have some success a few years later for another project b...
