Re: Beat mapping/ Double time MIDI

hmm... can't really remember how beat mapping differed in Logic 9 from 10 unfortunately. what about if you locked your regions in your original MIDI / session and then set that tempo to 120, and then unlocked them, and then did the beat mapping to the click audio file that you've analyzed (or added ...

Re: Beat Mapping to Audio File - what am I missing this time

Doh! I figured it was some little check box I missed. Thank you! I wonder why it doesn't default to that.

Beat Mapping to Audio File - what am I missing this time

Hello- I have done this successfully a few times and so i'm at a loss at what is going on. I've recorded a lot of MIDI to a single tempo... and now I'm using an audio file as a guide to create my tempo map. My process is to open this audio file in the "Audio File Editor" and go into transi...

Re: Record function does not initiate playback [SOLVED]

I realize this is an old thread but I ran into this exact thing today. it wasn't a disk space issue as nearly 1TB was available. the solve was to delete the key commands for record and record toggle and record/record toggle, and then reprogram them and it stopped this behavior.

Re: Monitor only sends in record?

ah thanks for the reminder about that feature. Would still be better to have an "always monitor sends while in software monitoring mode" or some sort of button per send or bus return to turn monitoring on regardless of mode, but this could do. Thanks!

Monitor only sends in record?

Hello, In Pro Tools there is a setting that lets you monitor only the sends when in record and audio coming into the record track is muted so that you can monitor it through a console app like UAD etc for near zero latency monitoring. Is there a similar setting or workflow in Logic? That doesn’t inv...

Re: Automation not latency compensated

i really wish they would fix this!! just finished a project where automation fade outs needed to be very exact and I just couldn't do it in Logic. Had to move into PT for accuracy. I hope this issue is at the top of their priority for the next release.

Re: How to renumber bars in the ruler and score?

This feels like an odd omission in Logic... would love to see ability to renumber bars in the arrange in a future update. I've been seeing an odd bug lately also, where if I change the song start marker and it is left on an uneven beat / subdivision, then the bar/beat/subdivions demarcation lines in...

Re: Composer Tools Pro Recall Script

Very interesting way to avoid Scripter and it goes to show that Bidule in general is capable of doing some interesting midi transforms. Myself I find it easier to read and understand Javascript, but this is cool and since it gives you some sliders and stuff might be easier to tweak for each channel...

Re: Composer Tools Pro Recall Script

I was able to get this to work across multiple tracks by using a virtual MIDI port within the bidule plugin and then using Bidule standalone to pass the MIDI from the virtual ports to the lemur port. It seems there is probably a slicker way to do this using MIDI Kinetics own recall plugin, but I hav...

Re: Composer Tools Pro Recall Script

The hangup with this setup is that it looks like only ONE instance of bidule MIDI plugin can access the Lemur port at any given time... as soon as you open the layout on a different channel in Logic, the Lemur IO goes RED, and is not accessible. damn.

Re: Composer Tools Pro Recall Script

I got this to work successfully using the script posted in the OP, and using Bidule in the second insert MIDI fx slot, simply passing the filtered cc119 on to the lemur port. Very cool! I am interested in seeing how you did the entire conversion in Bidule though, effectively removing Scripter from t...

Re: Composer Tools Pro Recall Script

Hey Dewdman, Thanks for turning me onto Bidule. I got it stuck in my head after I discovered it's capabilities, that it would be better if I could do this process with just one midi plugin (bidule), instead of 2 (bidule, my script). So this is what I built in Bidule and it seems to work like it sho...

Re: How to correct tempo of untagged loops

Thanks for the feedback! Yes makes sense that if lengths are off, Logic may have some trouble. I'm finding that many times on the loops that Logic gets wrong, the tempo is right there in the file name... just wish there was a way to easily force Logic to recognize a particular tempo on a file... lik...

Re: How to correct tempo of untagged loops

Thanks for the heads up on Loop Cloud, I will check it out. No I'm not 100% sure loops are exact lengths, and most likely they are not, or they are unusually long... I would say 97% of the time, Logic is getting it right...I do wish there was an easy way to fix when it's not.

How to correct tempo of untagged loops

Hello-
I've been exploring Logic's untagged loops feature recently and it is very cool! However, I'm finding occasionally it is incorrectly guessing the tempo of some loops I am importing. Is there an easy way to simply correct this after they import? Thanks for any insight.
