Re: Logic Pro X - Midi bug Topic is solved

Show us the mixer page in the environment - you must have something cabled to the channel strip - likely the multi Also I had a lot of trouble with midi beam sending wrong information. I switched to midijet and problem went away... I am not a fan of midibeam - especially if you are sending a lot of...

Re: Logic X corrupting all SYSEX data dumps

I know this is an old thread. But I also found that Logic is not recording SysEx correctly. On playback, after each message of recorded SysEx, another 15 bytes are send. These bytes are not visible in the event list. I can see it in MIDI Monitor, which spies on Logic's outputs. However, if you expo...

Re: How best to use the Thunderbolt 3 ports on new MacBook?

And power the unit from the right side, the left side ports are near a temp sensor and can heat up enough to slow the computer when being powered on the left.

I have to ask the simple stupid, but what is your buffer setting, could it have inadvertently been increased?

Re: WARNING: Don't use any disk-cleaner apps, it deletes the AudioUnitCache folder

I do Macs for a living, there is no reason to use and no benefit from any disk cleaner/system optimizer things. Quite often they are malware and the Mac OS doesn't need any of it.

You can download 10.14 from Apple. Just do a search and read the page carefully, there is a link

Re: Best way to do a fresh install of Mojave after going to Catalina

You can make a usb installer, there are instructions out there but doing a command-r installation is easier. If you do want to make a usb installer it has to be at least 16 gigs.

Re: Is it possible to achieve something like this in Logic?

you could do it with the Note Repeat Midi FX, using automation or a controller the change the parameters in real time, but that is probably more work than just drawing the notes that you want in.

Re: LUFS confusion... any help? Topic is solved

For many the current thinking is that LUFS should be around -14. Remember that this is an average of the whole track/album. Many commercial releases are pulling back from the loudness wars and some newer cds may sound quieter than what we’ve had for a while. It’s nice to have some dynamics back in o...

Re: Asking too much

Do you mean a way other than closing your current project? I always close my current before going to another, unless you are transferring assets between projects there isn’t a good reason to have more than one open. There is are key commands for closing projects and saving, or closing without saving.

Re: Is it my imac or logic pro software

Thanks, I'll do what I can. I appreciate your help. BTW, did the 76.3% seem excessive? If the percentage had been the cause, would it more than likely have stopped as it tried to push past 100%? (Just so I better understand.) Roughly speaking that is 76% of 1 core, each core is 100%, so you can hav...

Re: Second hand mac spec for logic pro

Triplets advice is good. The nice thing about that MacBook Pro is the HD and RAM are easily and inexpensively upgrades. But only bother with a 15” with the i7.

Hi, Was your older machine on Mojave as well?

I’m near 100% certain that the 2020 Mini is downgradable to 10.14.

Re: Time for a new computer?

Zoom is very taxing on a computer. (All video conferencing is) One way to incorporate a new computer is to set it up with Vienna Ensemble Pro, the new machine can host a ton of things, taking the load off of your main machine but not requiring you to take the time to set it up completely. With the n...

Re: "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI."

Also, if make sure you are powering the computer from the right side ports and DO NOT pass the power through another adapter (usb-multiport, anything). There is a temp sensor near the left side ports that gets triggered when powering on the left, especially if that port is handling power *and* data....
