Re: Asking too much

Do you mean a way other than closing your current project? I always close my current before going to another, unless you are transferring assets between projects there isn’t a good reason to have more than one open. There is are key commands for closing projects and saving, or closing without saving.

Re: Is it my imac or logic pro software

Thanks, I'll do what I can. I appreciate your help. BTW, did the 76.3% seem excessive? If the percentage had been the cause, would it more than likely have stopped as it tried to push past 100%? (Just so I better understand.) Roughly speaking that is 76% of 1 core, each core is 100%, so you can hav...

Re: Second hand mac spec for logic pro

Triplets advice is good. The nice thing about that MacBook Pro is the HD and RAM are easily and inexpensively upgrades. But only bother with a 15” with the i7.

Hi,

I'm on Mojave with new macmini bought last year. It's great! incredibly powerful machine. I didn't upgrade to catalina though.

Hi, Was your older machine on Mojave as well?

I’m near 100% certain that the 2020 Mini is downgradable to 10.14.

I use a 4K monitor on mine, no issues at all.

Re: Time for a new computer?

Zoom is very taxing on a computer. (All video conferencing is) One way to incorporate a new computer is to set it up with Vienna Ensemble Pro, the new machine can host a ton of things, taking the load off of your main machine but not requiring you to take the time to set it up completely. With the n...

Re: System Overload problem

You definitely should be seeing more tracks assuming you aren’t using super heavy plugins. How full is your hard drive?

I support Macs for a large # of advertising agencies and keep my eye out for things that can make them run better.

Re: "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI."

Also, if make sure you are powering the computer from the right side ports and DO NOT pass the power through another adapter (usb-multiport, anything). There is a temp sensor near the left side ports that gets triggered when powering on the left, especially if that port is handling power *and* data....

Re: Automap only controls mixer - not instruments

This is not 100% accurate, with an SL keyboard Automap can control Logic's plugins, but as far as I can the the Nocturn only allows mixer control. The point is moot anyway, there is about a 0% chance that Automap would ever be 64bit compatible, so 10.14 is the last OS we will be able to use it with.

Do you *have* to have a laptop? You can get more bang for your buck with a Mini or iMac.

Re: Fixed MIDI note lenghts (for drum VSTs)? Topic is solved

Unheardofski is a user on this board who created a 'quantize note ends' script for midi scripter, which I use for my Alesis drum pad since you can't set note lengths on it. He has some other useful posts, search for his stuff and you'll likely find an answer. I do wish I understood scripting but my ...

Yeah, I didn’t realize that I still had auto update enabled on one of my iPads and the Remote updated itself and I’m surprised that is still seems to work.

And another pleasant surprise is that Automap is working with 10.5 on one of my backup machines.

Re: Logic Pro X - What's new in 10.5

i did 15 years of mac support in nyc (alongside the music); now, i only do music. i think catalina is great, and am good with the idea of a '64bit only' architecture. i earn my living on my mac, but i enjoy the 'new' with betas, and updates... and don't mind troubleshooting when i have to. as alway...
