Re: Kick/Sub bass frequencies

Thanks for your reply. I’m a bit unsure which track it was as I reference a lot, but it may have been this one.... https://youtu.be/FF-BuGnfHMs Or this one https://youtu.be/dZRvZcVkZXc Anyway I know these have very low frequencies as I mentioned. Right from the start I think when it is just the Kick...

Kick/Sub bass frequencies

I am making trance music and hear so many people say that you should always cut your kick and sub bass at around 30Hz. Like it’s a rule for getting a better mix. But when I insert a multimeter in logic and listen to a great sounding track (usually one by John O’Callaghan or will Atkinson), their fre...

Re: Magsafe adapter noise issue

Yes, I've binned the faulty one now! I didn't know much about the risks or what was causing the buzzing noise. So thanks again for the info. Really happy I can actually charge the MAC and use headphones at the same time. Cheers mate.

Re: Magsafe adapter noise issue

I've just bit the bullet and bought a new one from currys. I've tried it and its now working with no buzzing. I'm made up and glad I haven't wasted my money. Thanks for the help.

Re: Magsafe adapter noise issue

Ahhh ok, cheers for the info. Well I should of said, but I have an amp which the headphones are connected to, the amp is plugged into an extension cable along with the magsafe charger. So the extension goes to the mains socket. I've just tried something else and the problem is still there. i moved t...

Re: Magsafe adapter noise issue

It is actually an apple magsafe charger. It's from a Mac refurbishing company. I've heard this could be a ground loop issue. I would invest in a new charger but I want to be sure this won't happen again.

Magsafe adapter noise issue

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone has had noise/static issues when using a magsafe adapter plug? Whenever I have my laptop plugged into the adapter (charging) I get a harsh static buzzing sound in my headphones. When i disconnect the charger, the noise goes away. I can't use the headphones to produ...

Omnisphere channel settings

I have recently downloaded Omnisphere 2 and am trying to use it with my M-AUDIO Key station 49 controller. When I select a sound I can only play the notes from my midi keyboard if I select channel 6 on Omnisphere, but I can't play the sound in logics piano roll. If I want to play the sound from the ...

Percussion In correct key

I am creating uplifting trance music and have been told that I should have my percussion (Claps, Open hats etc.) in the same key as the rest of the track. So I'm thinking that if my bassline played on note E, i would need to find percussion sounds in key E also. My question is, does it have to be th...

Re: Aly & Fila - Basslines

Hey, thanks for the good advice. i have tried this now and have especially found that routing the cutoff with the velocity works really well to create movement. thanks again

Sub bass not in true key

When i create a sub bass say in key A it almost always says that it is in key E when i am using a key analyser. Also i have used some sample packs before that are labelled in one key but i analyse them in a totally different key. Is this normal? Can this be avoided so i am getting a true representat...

Aly & Fila - Basslines

I am producing uplifting trance music (Trying to produce lol) in the style of Aly & Fila. I love using lots of acid lines/stabs and big melodies. I am wondering if any Aly & Fila fans could tell me how many basslines they would typically use? Especially in tracks like breeze, napoleon, Tula....

Re: System Overloads

Thanks for the informative answer. I have spoken to a few people who suggest the same thing  - That i should get a top range mac (i7). I use a lot of tracks , usually about 80 every project and the system overloads are really annoying. Freezing the tracks does help but then i obviously have to un fr...

Re: System Overloads

System Overloads

Can anyone give me some advice on how to stop system overloads in logic. Is this to do with not having enough ram? I have a hard drive where i store my CPU hungry folders/banks. Is it worth getting an SSD card? I know about freezing tracks and other tips to take the strain off the CPU but as you can...

Re: What frequencies should my sub bass be hitting

Thanks for the informative answer mate! I will take your advice and not do any eq boosts. I use a pair of mackie HR824's which also go down to about 35 Hz. When i do the 10 db eq boost i cannot tell much difference, sounds like i have a bit more bass but the main reason as i say, is that when i look...

What frequencies should my sub bass be hitting

I am creating an off beat trance sub bass and am wondering how low it should go across the frequency spectrum? At the moment i boost the eq at around 30HZ by as much as 10 db! The reason i do this is that when i look at professional trance tracks, they have all this low end showing on the logic mult...
