Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

That's what the above does, but with switches to make it easy to put into record mode or not, and to configure dynamically which device is routed to which instrument.

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

here is a project template you can use to get started. Its configured for MY 5 midi controllers so for you to use it you have to open the clicks and ports page of the enviornment and cable each of the midi device ports you intend to use to the 6 monitors you see near them. Then it should work as des...

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

I guess you can move those 7 controls to their own layer and then you can have a nice tidy little panel like this: panel.jpg There are ways to use colors and borders but that's getting beyond my pay grade... But anyway once you have a window like that you can just put it somewhere on your screen and...

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

Auto Demix by Channel is definitely different now, I hopped off Logic at version 8 so it's been a while, but it's behavior is kind of compromised, it works, but there's a delay at first, you have to "prime" the track.. Make something like this in the environment: 6controllers.jpg There ve...

Re: Combining two messages in Environment? Topic is solved

Scripter can’t work with fader and meta messages like the environment but it can access automatable plugin parameters. Not sure if that is of any use here perhaps in combination with environment stuff. It’s not limited to 127 discrete values either and can also be linked up with smart controls since...

Re: Logic w X32 mixer

The X32's usb driver is not that great. Use a larger buffer setting for sure. LogicPro has nothing to do with the problem. Not sure why it works better on Windows, maybe just a better-written driver on windows? I myself use an expensive solution that won't help you which is to use a Lynx PCI card in...

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

go here to submit feature requests to Apple https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html (don't hold your breath though) Regarding auto demix, there are others on this forum with more experience and you can get a lot by searching the forum too, there are some really old discussions that get into th...

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

I don't disagree with you that I wish LogicPro would allow us to explicitly assign input midi ports to tracks for recording. Many LogicPro users really like the existing approach because they can use their midi controller and quickly just click on a track header to get auto-magic assignment of the S...

Re: Port assignment in Logic, is it possible?

Anyway, weird limitation, I might try hardwiring the MPE controller port to an instrument track and see if I can figure out how to permanently set it. Not sure that would really work though. Seems like you would have to separate all MIDI from SUM, I'm afraid that will break some things. I feel your...

Re: Drum Machine Designer - But using it with another VST than Quicksampler - Is this possible? Topic is solved

yea if you even create a DMD full of cells and then try to create one more instrument track in the project, it will nuke them all. The problem, I'm sure, is related to some underlying thing in the way the environment objects are constructed and modifiable by the environment. It would be nice to figu...

Re: one to many CCs in Environment? Topic is solved

so for example, here is a simple Scripter script do do what the OP asked in post#1 function HandleMIDI(event) { // handle CC48 on midi channel 2 if(event instanceof ControlChange) { if(event.channel == 2 && event.number == 48) { event.send(); event.number = 49; event.send(); event.number = 5...

Re: one to many CCs in Environment? Topic is solved

Scripter comes last in the midi signal chain RIGHT BEFORE the actual instrument, in an instrument channel. Unless, of course, you insert more MIDI FX plug-ins after Scripter. yes, well more accurately from what I said before the MIDIFX section of LogicPro is RIGHT BEFORE the instrument.. .its part ...

Re: one to many CCs in Environment? Topic is solved

Oh I also want to make another point...which is that the Scripter drawback #2 I mentioned above, can also be worked around by simply putting duplicate copies of Scripter on each of the destination instrument channels.

Re: one to many CCs in Environment? Topic is solved

Before giving up on Scripter entirely I'd like to make the following observation also... When you use an environment solution, unfortunately its a bit annoying to re-use in different projects. You have to basically import environment stuff from one project to the next or always start with a starter ...

Re: Stop LPX from sending CC7 messages to Kontakt Topic is solved

You can setup the environment so that all midi coming from the midi port where your keystation is connected, will filter out CC7 before cabling on to the sequencer as usual through the SUM. cc7.jpg I'm surprised to hear that the keyboard is sending it out automatically like that unless you are movin...

Re: Drum Machine Designer - But using it with another VST than Quicksampler - Is this possible? Topic is solved

I spent a few hours mucking around with this last night. I could not get anything working in a way that should be considered correct. I would like to summarize my observations here in case anyone can take the torch and figure it out from here in the future. First, observe the Factory library patch I...

did you ever figure out a way to set the port with a script? I assume you meant AppleScript or Keyboard Maestro or something of this nature?

Re: Drum Machine Designer - But using it with another VST than Quicksampler - Is this possible? Topic is solved

Alight...here is quick tutorial how to setup an AUX based DMD patch. Again...I can't really make this for you unless I have the plugin you need and set it up for you. As soon as you swap plugins, all the AUX connections are lost and you have to redo it all. Once you do it once though, you can save i...
