Unselect regions on track selection

Anyone here feels that Logic is missing this option to prevent accidents? It happened to me a few times, actually. Sometimes the "Select Regions on track selection" is helpful, but you can achieve that by pressing ALT/Option while clicking the track. I never used the "Select track on ...

Re: Understanding the CPU Meter In Logic

Technically the meter is not actually cores, its "threads". At any one time your system can have many more than 8 threads happening and generally OSX decides which core to put it on. LogicPro has a multi-threading setting which you an adjust from 1 to double your core count, or auto. So t...

Re: Understanding the CPU Meter In Logic

The audio section represents the 8 cores on your computer, so that means that only one core is working really hard. Something isn't working as it should. Maybe someone else on the forum can explain it better and come up with solutions for it. Maybe that's why you're having problems with Logic

Re: Logic keeps copying files

I save a project, it shows "copying files xyz". Then I keep working, just doing some volume adjustments for example and when I hit save again, it shows me the same window that it's copying audio files. This is happening over and over again... so annoying... Try saving the project before y...

Re: Logic keeps copying files

try saving as a package? i so prefer that; simple. everything in one file. and great for organizing, archiving. if i truly need access to an audio file, i can copy it out of the package file. IF. (i've done a couple of times in a decade). worth trying, at least... I tried that approach before and w...

Logic keeps copying files

This project I'm working on is probably super corrupted, because it's been acting weird in a lot of areas, but this is not the first time that this happens with other projects: I save a project, it shows "copying files xyz". Then I keep working, just doing some volume adjustments for examp...

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

There are simpler ways to change gain in the inspector! Select a region. Double click on the Gain: parameter. Press return - nothing changes, except that 'Gain' is the last parameter modified. Now you can use '=' and 'shift-=' to increase gain...'-' and 'shift-minus' to decrease gain. As long as yo...

Re: Stuck in mode I've never seen

That's a take folder, meaning you have 2 or more recorded audio regions and you get to pick one of them at a time for audition
Hope this somehow helps: https://support.apple.com/en-md/HT200307

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

You guys are aware of this thread, yes ? https://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=128703 I wasn't, but this sounds more like a headache than just selecting the region and using the Inspector :P Too much stuff to be aware of, like "you have to have the Inspector open and the c...

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

What do you guys think of a feature that allows us to increase/decrease the gain of an audio region, the same way we add a fade in/out? +1 While they are at it, allowing the gain to be applied to marquee'd segments would be helpful to do surgical gain editing without having to break it into sub-reg...

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

Did you check out the function "Normalize Region Gain..." under the funtion-menu? It tries to normalize the region gain in all your selected regions. I don't use it often, but have used it. All the best, jan Yes, I use it once in a while. But it doesn't do what I'm suggesting here. The go...

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

It’s more clunky than that but you can use region gain in the inspector to accomplish the same task. Yes, this is what I would like to avoid, because it's time consuming, as I mentioned. I've been using the Inspector, but it just feels "unnatural" to go back and forth. You can use the ins...

Re: Audio region gain suggestion

I do think that this way of doing it just feels simpler than selecting, going to the inspector, altering by clickdragging, then deselecti...

Audio region gain suggestion

What do you guys think of a feature that allows us to increase/decrease the gain of an audio region, the same way we add a fade in/out? Maybe pressing a key while at the top/bottom edge of the region to make it more obvious that we are about to change the gain, for example Shift or Alt/Option. Here'...

Re: Replacing regions?

as always... whatever works. but i used to keep a lot of projects (already backed up elsewhere) on the sd card, and just moved one to the internal drive if i wanted to work on it. something like idrive (online backup, which i use) is incredibly useful too. i remember being far from home, and unable...

Re: Replacing regions?

i had a (mini) sd card, with a card holder, that kept it flush with the macbook's edge ... with 200gb, plugged into my macbook pro; so that was always there; a great place to store archived projects you might want to revisit. https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=macbook+pro+sd+card+adapter+flush&crid=2...

Re: Replacing regions?

one thing i used to do on my macbook pro (come to think of it, i still do this with my imac)... archive finished or older projects to an external drive. when i ran logic on the macbook, i always worked without an external drive(so i could travel with just the laptop, a cme xkey, headphones, and an ...
