Re: main window doesn't recall setup Topic is solved

BINGO! Thanks so much, there's a reason I come here! Didn't even know that was there, under a mysterious menu item simply shown as "2"... which is now obvious. Thanks again, so much to learn so little time

main window doesn't recall setup Topic is solved

this is a minor irritant, but I've made the mistake so many times I thought I'd ask here. I sometimes accidentally close the main window when clicking around, probably need new glasses... anyway- View/ Show Main Menu brings it back of course, but completely messed around, all the spacing in the trac...

Re: This catch playhead turning on by itself, still a bug or just user error?

Guys I'm gonna test it out now. But I just checked the release notes for 10.6 and peep: - Resolves an issue where Catch Playhead sometimes unexpectedly activates in the Piano Roll own editing notes during playback. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203718 a little late in seeing this, thanks for lo...

Re: This catch playhead turning on by itself, still a bug or just user error?

just want to add my voice to those really frustrated by this. I don't recall ever having a problem in the first versions I learned on, about 5 years ago. I think some added "feature" at some point brought this on. When the playhead does, or does not, return to recent start position is anot...

at a glance I'm not seeing any posts here of problems with this update. Seems to be relatively problem free and smooth for most? I'm on mojave.
Thanks

Re: Data Recovery for Crashed External Harddrive - PLEASE HELP

no I had data rescue 3 recover the projects, but several had corrupted audio regions, you could see it right in the tracks, empty sections in regions. Those were not recoverable, but some freeze files, which are also stored in the media folder, or bounce files if you store them in the project folder...

Re: Data Recovery for Crashed External Harddrive - PLEASE HELP

I was able to reassemble several projects, and the app, associated library files, AUs, etc., a few years back with Data Rescue 3, it took several days of work. Unfortunately some of the audio was too corrupted with some projects, some audio I retrieved from the freeze files.. etc.. Anyway, for the m...

Re: Is it possible to roll back to 10.4.8?

I rolled back, rather quickly, using Time Machine, using the most recent backup before the update. But not just the app, I looked in all the library and ~library folders potentially relevant and rolled those back too. Wasn't fun, had never used time machine like that before, but it worked. If I can ...

understood, I was hoping to raise a red flag about a potential issue with 10.5, not troubleshoot, and I was asked several questions. Thanks for your input.

just updated before checking around, including here, like an idiot. Opened a project which it had to "convert.. several track sound different, need re-EQing. Had it with this stuff, will revert and go back to my backed up projects. Can you give more info about the project's last saved version,...

Re: Adjust project tempo without changing MIDI region tempo

I know this is an old thread, but I landed here searching, with the same dilemma. As gabo.sound suggests it can be quite easy. I needed to half the time signature in a project with existing audio and midi track- selected all tracks (of any kind) function- lock SMPTE position deselect all and reselec...

Re: MIDI region changing length

this has been consistent "normal" and very irritating behavior through several Logic versions, OSs, computers, all projects... it's not the minimum length default, as you mentioned

thank you. The bounce irregularities may occur with any track, audio or midi, I don't even know what a multi output software instrument is so doubt I use them. Thanks for the rest of the info.

bounced mix problems with frozen tracks

Intermittently, but regularly, I have frozen tracks simply not present at all in an off line bounced mix. Sometimes I can simply immediately repeat the bounce, and there they are, sometimes I need to unfreeze them to get a proper bounce. Additionally, sometimes the levels of frozen tracks will be to...

create note not happening

SInce the 10.4.5 update I can't command pointer click in the piano roll and make a new note as before. Probably a pref or setting somewhere I can't find that the update decided to change on me, sorry for the basic basic question... Control click brings up a menu that includes that option but it's an...
