Re: Logic Pro X manual/tutorial book (10.5 update in the works!) Topic is solved

When you say "new book" are you referring to the Kindle version only (not the print version)? The print book has Logic 10.4 on the cover. Or are you saying the current print version on Amazon has all the 10.5 update information? I'm interested in the print version since I find hardcopy-boo...

Re: Logic Pro X manual/tutorial book (10.5 update in the works!) Topic is solved

How will the update for 10.5 be implemented for the print-version?

Re: Making strings more legato / smooth, less "keyboard-ish"

I believe you need a plug-in which supports legato samples. Using the pitch-bend lever will likely yield fake-sounding, unconvincing results. Tina Guo's legato acoustic cello is excellent and is only $99. It's one of the most realistic and easy-to-play legato plug-ins I've tried.

Re: Recent Logic update now allow it to accept an external-MIDI clock?

Hey, thank you both for your replies! Oh well, that answers that. However, although my analog gear all aggregates via one of two Behringer RX1602 line-mixers, every device with an S/PDIF-output (e.g., digital synths and a pair of MX-1s) goes into one of two Roland M-1000 digital S/PDIF line-mixers (...

Recent Logic update now allow it to accept an external-MIDI clock?

I am trying to send MIDI from an external device to Logic, a Roland MX-1; i.e., I would like to set the master-tempo from the MX-1 (not from within Logic). Prior to the new version of Logic, this was not possible. Again, I would like Logic to slave to an external MIDI-source. Can it be done now? Tha...

Re: Playing multiple hardware synths in real-time into Logic (via USB hub)?

Oh, thanks, mrcrappypants! I've tried using it just both as an external audio device via USB (on a regular audio track in Logic), and with Access' AU plug-in, but can get neither to work. Logic "sees" it—plainly registering key notations in the "chord display" (below) when depres...

Re: Sound is recording everything instead of just vocals.

Solution: Buy a separate audio interface dedicated solely to monitoring. I know this is an old thread, but I had the same problem, and was able to glean the solution by reading several similar threads. From what I could gather, it seems that if your audio interface is used for both your input (e.g.,...

Re: Playing multiple hardware synths in real-time into Logic (via USB hub)?

Thank you, David and mrcrappypants, for the quick replies! Two of my synths have AUs (Montage and VirusTI) but I'm having trouble getting the Virus plug-in to work properly (beyond the scope of this thread). I'll look into creating an aggregate audio device. Thanks again!

Playing multiple hardware synths in real-time into Logic (via USB hub)?

I'm using a powered USB hub to enable me to connect multiple hardware synths to my iMac (e.g., Yamaha Montage, Korg Kronos, Access VirusTI, etc.). All of these synths are capable of supporting a digital audio stereo-pair + MIDI data over USB. However, since audio preferences in Logic are global, and...
