so basically i need a mic. i’ve been looking at USB ones so far, but i heard i could also get a cheap audio interface and a cheap xlr mic or whatever (and it would be worth it in the long run). i don’t really have a budget but anything under $100 is great. maybe $120 but that’s a stretch lol because...

The padlock indicates it's been SMPTE locked to position. Control or right-click on the region and select SMPTE Lock -> Unlock SMPTE position, or from the local menu, Functions -> Unlock SMPTE position.

When I right click SMPTE Lock doesn't show up.

If you you stay in automation view, using the marquee will get rid of what's selected.
Otherwise you have to double click every little automation node to get rid of it.

so there's no way to get rid of just the fade?

Changing volume at different parts of the region Topic is solved

How do I change the volume at a certain spot of a MIDI region?
I want it to get quieter at only one spot of the region and that's it. But I don't want it to fade.

Thanks for your help

You have to convert the midi region to an audio file first.
Bounce the sample in place. Control-B on the keyboard.

Re: how to merge regions/loops Topic is solved

Yes, what triplets says. Your issue is because the "pink one" is not a sample per se, it's a MIDI region that contains a MIDI Note that triggers a sample. If you cut the note in two, each note will trigger the sample (from its beginning). So to do what you want, you need to first convert ...

Re: Mic on a budget

am sure if you google, you can find simple instructions to make a pop filter. the thing with a mic like that is... it includes a usb connection, but it's not an actual interface; no headphone jack, and so, no way to listen to what you record with whatever you're recording to (interfaces let you hea...

Re: Recording w/out a mic

Ok, so you have a 2014 Macbook Air. When you wanna use your built-in mic you have to select it in Logic Preferences under Audio and Devices: Screen Shot 2020-04-04 at 9.26.18 AM.png Remember to use headphones when you record, otherwise you're gonna record the laptop speakers as well.
