Re: Logic vs. Cubase SX

I did some tests recently, bouncing my virtual instruments to 16-bit audio and was shocked by the results. Logic sounds clear and crisp, but Cubase sounds fatter and closer to analog to my ears. Anyone else notice this? Also, after about an hour of playing around I had a full-blown track on my hand...

Logic Pro, Cubase (better on the PC than Mac) and Digital Performer are all terrific apps with various pros and cons. All are dealing with midi, audio, loops, and everything so all have a learning curve. Think of it as learning a musical instrument. Is it rally much easier to learn any to play reall...

I hope it doesn't sound stupid when I ask--what do you mean when you say right in the gui?

When you open the Exs 24 on the right side, almots directly under "Options" you will see a volume knob.

Re: Raising the overall volume in EXS

Is there a way to boost the overall volume in the EXS sampler without having to go into each individual sample in the edit window? I often get samples/programs that are at 0 db but still not loud enough. I end up pulling everything else back because I can't boost one sound. Right in the gui every t...

If you upgrage to Logic 7.1, and believe me it is well worth it, "Save as Project" will allow you to do what you want. Either the manual or a good after market book like Orren Merton's "Logic Pro & Power" will tell you how. It is not difficult.

I was responding to Runner, not the original poster. I know perfectly well what Logic's score editor will and will not do. What I AM saying is that to dismiss it as second-rate compared to Finale or Sibelius is extreme and invalid. Professional scores can be and are created in it without any help f...

I disagree. I recently attended a seminar by an accomplished composer who had examples of his scores written for the Russian National Orchestra that were assembled and printed in Logic Pro 7. They looked as legit as anything I've seen produced in either of the applications that you mentioned. I wou...

How do you make Coda,Sharp and Flat signs larger when making/printing a chart?

Thanks!

If oyu mean in relation to the notes, etc. you cannot. If you make the socre style a larger font then everytthing gets larger.

It was broken for a very long time so they finally just took it out since they did not intend to fix it. It just wasn't a priority for the devlopers as the perception was, perhaps erroneous, that not very many users cared about it. I never used it personally but another film scorer friend of mine mi...

Under Audio global menu is the panel Audio Hardware and Drivers. That is where you will find it.

Re: Newbie Lost in Logic 7.01 & 10.4.1

I am trying to hook up a K2600R and Motu 828 with a USB Keystation 88 I think I've go the midi environment set up as I hear the 2600 thru it's own headphone out jack. But I can't for the life of me seem to monitor that 2600 track while hooked up to the 828's headphone jack. What is the best way to ...
