Re: how to get cymbals and toms and hats to all play together in drummer Topic is solved

But you can achieve it by making a second drummer track (copying by option-dragging the track header is my preferred method), and enabling only the toms (or only the cymbals, depending on what the "main (wo)man" does). And this because two drummers can do it! Correct. OK, I am going to go...

Re: Logic/East West issue

Plugin instances of any plugin can get corrupted. Logic projects can get corrupted. It happens.

Re: how to get cymbals and toms and hats to all play together in drummer Topic is solved

Drummer, unlike Drum Machine Designer, emulates what a real drummer can actually play. Unless your drummer magically grows arms and legs, he/she cannot do what you are describing, so Drummer doesn’t.

Re: Preferences vs. Project Settings

IMHO, Apple has already moved some settings from Project Settings to Preferences that they should not have in the name of having GarageBand upgraders little heads not explode. :)

David, do Focusrite audio interfaces now support Direct Monitoring there? I didn’t think so.

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

I have said it before so I will say it one more time and then shut up. When working with a DAW, which is by definition already a complex engine as it is doing so many things, the more complexity you add to it to try to bend it to your will, the more likely it is that things will go wrong. Leo is a g...

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

I've made my best effort to explain in multiple ways in my second language what I am trying to do. I don't know how else I should explain. Never mind, Cubase is here waiting for me. Thank you a lot!!! On a Mac? Wait until you see how inefficient Cubase is on a Mac with software instruments. Not to ...

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

You don't need a third party system for this simple task. Just assign each to a MIDI channel and create an Articulation Set for the instrument, unless you need more than 16 discrete articulations. Screen Shot 2020-09-03 at 8.34.10 AM (2).png Hi Jay, this method would work fine if I had one VEP excl...

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

ps - I would have assumed also that Ivan included some kind of environment stuff to support kontakt multi-instance, but I don't really know that for sure. Are you sure you aren't missing something? Did he provide you with templates to use? I am not enamored by any specific software. I just want som...

Re: "Plug-ins load as needed"

You can indeed turn it off in the Project Settings, but it is on by default in new projects, so you have to save templates with it off because it’s not a Preference but a Project Setting.

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

Not complaining, simply stating facts. Apple does not fully support AU 3 and VSL calls the multi port they provide a “ beta” I believe you when you say it works fine for you, but for me that means “ stay away “ until both Apple and VSL give me the official go ahead. But after so many years doiNg this...

I've been, for at least three weeks, looking for a solution to the primitive way LPX handles routing and I can't find an answer.
This software os a conundrum!

Nope, Until Apple FULLY supports AU3, I am staying away.

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

It seems to work for the summing stack AUX too. I think basically it will work when midi is relevant. An aux bus with no midi signal path to an actual instrument plugin....would be irrelevant for midi....so perhaps they don't bother providing midi related parameters such as articulation set in that...

Re: Articulation Sets on AUX Channels

Ah indeed of course you can with a aux assigned to a multi-output software instrument. Like an idiot, I just created a normal aux and added it to the Track List, and therefore couldn't.

Senior moment, back to your regular news stories now :)
