Re: Mainstage 2.2.2 CPU overloads when using 32Bit AU Bridge

Some plugins use their own threading which might conflict with the new multithreading in MS 2.2, e.g. in Kontakt you can now turn off the Kontakt specific Threading. You mean 2.1.3. There was never a 2.1.7. I think you are right, re: v.2.1.3? Re: the threading feature in Kontact: does that v.5 new ...

Re: multi midi assignment

Make sure the track is NOT selected when you're making your assignment - so the assignment stays on that specific track independently of which track is selected. Otherwise the assignment will always follow the "selected track" - and if the currently selected track doesn't have the same pl...

Re: Which Control Surface I should use for M-Audio Oxygen 49

OSX Lion is 10.7.x (not 10.4.7, as indicated in your signature)

Did you try to install the Oxygen drivers from M-Audio?
http://fr.m-audio.ca/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=656

Once the drivers installed, if not done, did you try to boot Logic in 32bit mode first?

Re: Mainstage 2.2.2 CPU overloads when using 32Bit AU Bridge

The bridge doesn't come "free", the translation from 64-bit to 32-bit does cost some CPU power. Understandably, but in version 2.17 (or previous ones) there was no such issue. I remember very well that I could load several 32bit plugins with Fxs in the channel strips without causing immed...

I know this is trivial, but if it's only for pan-sweeping, why not use automation?

Just an intuition: do you have Automation Quick Access set to On, in your Preferences/Automation ?

Re: Logic Macro's

Could assigning all these parameters (via Learn, or from within the plugin themselves) to respond to a (same) hardware controller (such as modwheel), then create a fader (that sends CC#01) in the Environment so it could be mouse-actuated, do the trick? Or, how about about copying the created automat...

Re: Slow disk errors running off a near empty external drive

This may sound trivial but if you are running other application (in the background also) such as backup utilities that often comes with external drives or Time Machine, virtual drives, etc..., it could interfere with Logic.
5400rpm... I am not an expert, but this seems marginal performance...

Re: EXS Sample Loads with an SSD

I am not aware of such a feature in Logic. However, there is mention of some setup with VSL sampler instrument at: http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/#chapter=12%26section=27 which could be of some interest... Additionnally, in 32bit mode, EXS24 mkII adresses handling of sampl...

Re: Disk is too slow or system overload error?

Could it be that Time Machine is interfering with the use of Logic?
Did you try turning off Time Machine when using Logic?
Is it advisable to use Time Machine on the same drive than Logic?
I know, lots of questions, but intended to hint possible cause of your problem...

Adjusting colors/contrast of the Mute and Solo buttons

Does it exist a way to increase the vividness of the Solo and Mute buttons colors/contrast in Logic (Mixer or Channel strips)? I already tried with the Mac display setup to no satisfying result. Is this my age, or I find these to be too faint to ease their actuation... I often find myself having to ...

Re: Am I doing this the hard way??

If you need to play the vocal lines during patches changes (therefore vocal lines players would be at either the Set or Concert level), I would suggest that you either transpose (either way down or way up) the igniter keys (tap tempo, etc) or the playing patches ones... On the other hand, If you nee...

Re: soundcard, monitors and logic question

Have you checked there? http://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/dj/traktor-audio-10/overview/details-setup-examples/?type=99 To be honest, I don't know the connections (USB, MIDI, Firewire, etc) implemented on your Audio 10 card or on your G5... I would however assume that you know what I am t...

Mainstage 2.2.2 CPU overloads when using 32Bit AU Bridge

Since updated to Mainstage v.2.2.2 (from v.2.17), I experience CPU overload almost instantly when instantiating a 32bit AU plugin (via the 32bit AudioUnit Bridge). That problem does not occur when a 64bit version similar plugin is used!? :( Anyone else experiences the same problem? Any idea how to r...
