Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

I think I was not understanding at that point what you meant by midi-in. My Logic Pro specs are in my signature. I have personally not spent a lot of time using step entry methods in LogicPro, so I'm afraid there is not much more I can add at this point...perhaps others may have some ideas about how...

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

Its a pity that the midi-in capability is broken in this regard, but maybe there is a work around using step entry?

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

Please read this whole thread again carefully. The step input uses the articulation control at the top of the instrument window, not the one on the piano roll. Conversely the pencil tool uses the articulation tool the articulation control on the piano roll and it on the top of the instrument window....

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

I guess you must be talking about this form of midi in to the piano roll: Screen Shot 2021-05-17 at 10.25.45 PM.jpg As you described, it seems to initially set the note with the correct articulation, but then it clears itself to "-". In my view that' s a bug. I can't think of a work around...

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

correction, the step-input dialog is using the articulation control at the top of the instrument window which is also tied to the articulation set input switch.

...not the one on the left of the piano roll....

I edited my post above to reflect that.

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

It's working with the pencil tool :) but not with the midi keyboard :( This statement is not clear. "not with the midi keyboard" is not enough detail to understand what you are attempting to do. Sorry I mean using a midi keyboard without step-input engaged. It works for me. In my case wit...

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

finally as a follow up, if you are wanting to use your midi keyboard or a keyboard command to set the value of that articulation control I mentioned above, on the left of the piano roll, I do not think there is a way. Try KeyboardMaestro for that. to summarize, The input keyswitches of the articulat...

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

In order to enter notes in the piano roll with your trackpad with articulation id set to them as you enter them, you. need to use the control on the left side of the piano roll, the inspector; there is an articulation control but only when there is an articulation set active . Screen Shot 2021-05-17...

Re: Studio Strings articulation switch shortcut?

I should have read the OP more carefully....I see this now: The articulation change when I play from C1 to F2 with my midi keyboard or when I click on those keys, it will sound like a different articulation, but it doesn't change the articulation to the midi notes in the piano roll when I input them...

Re: How to avoid extreme latency with hardware?

You need to do a series of loopback tests using that device...come up with as many scenarios as you can think of and test the loop back using RTL utility. Once you have the info logged...keep track..hopefully it will come down to 5-10 different latency scenarios..then whenever you work on a project,...

Re: How to avoid extreme latency with hardware?

I don't know anything about that device, but being that its USB and that it has different possible configurations in a modular way, I'd say its highly probable that it is the culprit, changing your latency depending on the setup. You should check with them about that. If that is the case, then yes, ...

Re: What if Apple no longer sells Intel Core Mac's anymore in future?

I personally think we have some time to wait before it will make much sense to transition ourselves to ARM based Mac for daw use, except for lighter duty scrnarios. Apple is still selling expensive intel macpros so I don’t think it makes sense to think intel Mac will be obsolete any time soon. I per...

Re: weird automation visual "delay"

If the automation is happening at the right times sound wise that is a reason to rejoice! Like David said I think this is probably a matter of the GUI code not being synchronized. Instrument and audio channels achieve plugin delay compensation by feeding the audio and midi early to the separate mixe...

Re: How to avoid extreme latency with hardware?

It should not change if everything else is the same. Something weird going on there. Generally the record offset is something you should only have to set once after doing a loopback test to determine round trip latency of your system. Usually in most cases the audio device driver will report its own...

Re: Track stack deep nesting

By following some quirky procedures it is definitely possible to get nested track stacks...but its not officially supported and I'm not sure if summing stacks are supported that way or not...and I can't remember the quirky procedure..but yea if you move things into other things in the right sequence...

I'm with JimDillian, this is either a bug or kind of a bad oversight I never noticed before.

Re: freeze tracks logic pro not using all cores.. why?

I tried to select 20 tracks and "bounce tracks in place", which results in 20 audio tracks. It only used one core and took 2-3x the amount of time as it would to play back real time. 48 seconds of midi on 20 tracks....bounce all 20 at once...takes 2 minutes. I basically don't freeze tracks...
