Re: I cannot move audio regions to a new track Topic is solved

When you say 'move' do you really mean to move the selection? You might have the setting 'Limit dragging to one direction' enabled for Tracks. This exhibits itself as an inability to move a region to a new track (above or below) if you start by dragging left/right to put it in position. I have no id...

Re: Logic Pro X - Key Commands PDF List

I started my "Logic Pro X Keyboard Command of the Day" journey in January. I have made 132+ posts to my blog - https://www.studio-interns.com/ - and will continue for another few years. I'm finding all sorts of fascinating things. I use the Keyboard Command window a lot - option-K - and ha...

SampleTank4 - 15 MIDI channels - one instance desired

I haven't been able to come to grips with this yet. I have SampleTank4 - I can have a 16 instruments loaded in to 1 instrument track on various MIDI channels. I have 15 MIDI tracks (imported from a MIDI file) that I would really like to map to the same SampleTank instrument. Just not sure of the pro...

Re: Logic often very sluggish - lsof process

another hint for chasing down problems - get comfortable with Terminal. Keep one open so you can do something like this ps -auxwww >whyme.log when things slow down. The 'ps' command will list all of the processes, and the commands at that point in time. The file 'whyme.log' can be perused to see if ...

Re: Record audio from a website video - Like sampling a youtube video Topic is solved

Rogue Amoeba has a couple of tools besides Audio Hijack that will probably be useful as macOS evolves. Loopback (think fully supported Soundflower on steroids) and SoundSource. With Loopback you could create an "input device" that is the audio from your browser and other sources as well. S...

Re: Logic often very sluggish - lsof process

'lsof' is a command line tool that lists open files. I have no idea why Logic would be running that tool, but it might be some background information gathering for the audio. As others have suggested an SSD would probably help. The issue with spinning drives is 'access time' which involves rotationa...

Re: Overload

It could be your headphones. Turn on pre-fader metering and look at the meters on the stereo output. Delays (which have feedback loops) can certainly continue to feedback and cause levels to get very high. Put a limiter on the delay that caps it at -1.0 dB. Put a limiter on the stereo output that ca...

Set Smart Tempo MTR Handling to Ignore

Hi, This command "appeared" in the list of keyboard commands while I was browsing Smart Tempo commands. I have no idea what "MTR Handling" is. I have had zero success searching the internet and Logic Pro manuals for any reference to "MTR Handling". Does anyone out here ...

Re: How to "select all tracks with same output"?

Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a command for that. I just open the mixer window and click and control click on all the tracks I want to change.
What you could do is select all tracks, change the output, now select the reference track and "fix" that one. Easiest way I know.

Re: How to "select all tracks with same output"?

Sounds like the hard way to do this. Set the reference track output to Bus 1 Set all your tracks output to Bus 2 Set output of Bus 1 and Bus 2 to stereo output Put all your "fixins" on Bus 2 Solo Bus 1, option click Solo Bus 2, repeat as necessary. Only plugin(s) on your Stereo Out should ...

Re: Controller Assignments Duplicating Themselves

Note - the X-Touch claims to be a Logic Control/Mackie Control - does a darn good imitation too! One thing that I found helpful was to make sure that "Bypass all while in background" was un-checked in the control surfaces preferences menu. I have "Resolution of Relative Controls"...
